Staff here are so sweet and the owners are very hospitable. Their tour guides provided intimate hikes to the rice patties and hindu termple which is walking distance away. Clean suite with an added bonus of having a fresh thermos of hot water every evening to make delicious espresso ground bali coffee in the morning. Lovely experience in the common...

My friend and I stayed at BMR for 5 nights (arriving Boxing Day). We stayed in different rooms, I chose a room with it's own bathroom and my friend without. I contacted BMR months before our arrival to sort an itinerary for us and Rani was excellent with her communication and arranging it all for us. We absolutely loved: *...

If you're looking for a place off the touristy track where you can hike up the mountains through ricefields and to tempels this place is a very priceworthy option. They picked us up at the airport and the sweet, friendly staff has been very helpful with all our needs throughout our six nights stay. The room was nice and clean,...

Nice place tucked within lush forest and beautiful garden. A must do place if you are in need of peace and quiet. Food is good. Enjoyed the walk to the terraced rice field. Gede, our guide is very knowledgeable on local plants and culture of the area.

We stayed in a superior teak house. The rooms are beautifully designed and the beds very comfortable. The semi-outdoor bathroom is lovely and airy (don't understand why people complain about a slug in an outdoor bathroom!). Wonderful food and delightful staff. A good range of activities to do from the lodge, although just sitting and soaking in the peace and...

I have just returned from a 6 day yoga retreat held at Bali Mountain Retreat and what an experience it was!! The retreat was invigorating and inspiring, and felt truly life changing. Bali Mountain Retreat could not have been a better location for this journey. Tucked away high in the Bali mountain, this place provides the most authentic, relaxed and...

This is an attractive and peaceful little resort, which caters mainly to a young 'discerning' market wanting to explore the surrounding hill-country. Rooms are simple but clean and bathrooms fully functioning. The dining room has a lovely panorama looking out over the trees, and the friendly women that run the retreat cook tasty meals at very reasonable prices. (Beer and...

Excellent staff who went the extra mile. Good choice of food, superbly cooked. Richard is an excellent host - informative and friendly. Lots of private space to relax, work or contemplate. Arriving in torrential rain was an interesting experience!

We stayed here to do some trekking and as a base to explore the region. With hindsight this wasn't a good idea for 2 reasons - firstly the weather stopped us from doing the trek we wanted (OK, not much you can do about that), secondly its location is super isolated, really far from any sights/attractions and the roads are...

The retreat offered everything to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Friendly staff, lovely spacious room, exquisite gardens and excellent food. We were picked up from our hotel in Ubud and returned three days later feeling relaxed and refreshed. Our trek up Mt Batukaru was a highlight; although quite difficult and not for the faint-hearted it was a wonderful...
