The minute I reached the hotel, I just couldn’t what I was witnessing. A 2-hr drive from Ubud, rests this beautiful Balinese-inspired eco hotel with 8 mind-blowing villas made with natural and recycled materials, a 12-meter waterfall that generates 58% of the electricity at the hotel (hydropower at its finest!), a permaculture garden (self-sufficient and sustainable garden with everything from...

Bali Eco Stay is a special place. Far from the urban sprawl of the coast and the bumper-to-bumper traffic of Ubud, its bungalows sit sympathetically in a landscape of ricefields and food forests, where the loudest sound at night is of frogs. Each bungalow is different, and designed with careful attention to detail. Some bungalows overlook the stream coming down...

As a world traveler and a Mindful retreat host to luxury ecolodges immersed in nature, I can say that the Bali Eco Stay fulfilled all that I could ask for and more. This was my second year conducting a retreat for my group...

I had the supreme pleasure of staying at Bali Eco Stay for a yoga retreat. From the moment our group of 16 arrived, until we were on to another location on the beach, we were surrounded by beauty and thoughtfulness. The structures were amazingly crafted, the food was delicious and lovely in its presentation, and the people treated us with...

I spent a week at Bali Eco-Stay in late October with my two travelling companions. The setting is beautiful and the layout of the bungalows blends well with nature drawing your eye to the rice paddies, mountains and streams. We especially enjoyed the meals and water – not having to worry about what we ate. The organic, freshly prepared salads...

8 of us stayed for a yoga retreat for 5 days, and we are glad we did. The rainy season had just started, but we loved the rain, which really expanded the waterfall and running water through the rice fields. Healthy, fresh food in the restaurant, from smiling staff.

If you only visit the heavily touristed areas of Bali you are missing out! Bali Eco Stay is on the side of Mount Batukaru, north of Tabanan. Only 1.5 hours from the airport and oh so different than places like Sanur, Kuta, Seminyak, Ubud.... I've been coming to Indonesia for over 25 years. Often staying 6+ weeks to dive, shop,...

We loved everything about Bali Eco Stay and two days were all too short to appreciate everything it had to offer. Where to begin?
