If I could only give 6 stars😅❤️ This is definitely one of the best resort we’ve ever been at, my husband and I spent a 2 day “isolation-self love” retreat and it went way over our best expectations. Starting from the staff, who are so friendly, helpful and nice, continuing with the extraordinary architecture that surrounds you when you walk inside. It’s not just a matter of beauty, it’s the feeling that the nature of this place gives you all along. The sound of the waterfall, birds and wind through the trees will escort you during the entire stay, which is absolutely lovely. The restaurant and the bar inside will provide you with everything you need at all times and we particularly loved the activities they offer: we had yoga class every morning, tried for the first time the “sound-healing” (make sure you do that, it’s beyond amazing), and also could use the gym every time we wanted. There’s a tennis court too, we just didn’t use because were too busy enjoying the place 😅 the spa is quite big and complete and open pretty much all the time, we even had a couple massage which is something we’d definitely recommend 😉 Overall we can’t say it was just a place to spend a couple of days at, this was a proper Balinese experience that everyone should have, it’s been fantastic, we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about it. Will definitely do it again, we promised ourselves to come back soon!❤️

Ulaman is such a beautiful eco luxurious retreat. The bamboo architecture is out of this world and I've never seen anything like it. The welcoming service was outstanding, the staff were attentive and the manager Bagiana was super friendly, happy and helpful. I stayed in the upper Bambu cocoon room, and the designs were so intrinsically detailed with gorgeous bamboo material. The bed was really comfortable and the sounds of nature around was so relaxing. The white orchids in the bathroom were blooming with life and the bathtub was so gorgeous and uniquely designed.
Food was delicious, plenty of vegan options and the chef named Arik came out and gave us complimentary desserts :) The service was exceptional. They have an interesting delicious dessert named banana sushi which is a must to try.
The Yoga shala was my favourite place, you could really hear the healing sounds of the waterfall from above and it was so soothing during practice.
Ulaman retreat is the perfect tropical hideaway and is one of the best retreats i've ever stayed at. Such a self sustainable resort with amazing touches of bamboo, nature and everything. Thanks for having me and making my experience so memorable.

All things are well designed, both for the interior and the exterior. A recommended place for those who love arts, not only for lifestyle, but also for coziness. Thus, it has many perfect spots for instagram users. Stayed in the "Bamboo - Cocoon Upper Deluxe" room It's spacious! Initially, we considered to take the villa with 1 bedroom and the private pool. Fortunately, we changed our mind after checking in the instagram whereas the room size is smaller, although the private pool would be its extra value. Well, "Bamboo - Cocoon Upper Deluxe" has its enchanting balcony, and also the amazing bathroom! Anyway, we could use the main pool for swimming. So, no regret for the change😀. Of course, you have to ask for being put at the top of the list of the floating breakfast (this means the first one in the morning) at the reception, so that you can avoid the crowd of other guests when taking your photos (it was a long weekend when we stayed there, so, it was busy time apart of the pandemic). Each guest can get one pax of meal breakfast only: Any extra order means extra payment. They charged me a bit expensive for that extra order of a meal with omelette (very basic), some slices of beacon, a piece of tomato, a piece of sausage which costs IDR 133,000 incl. tax). Staff members: friendly, nice, and helpful. Yet, the reception was not 24 hours, there was only one person posted at the security booth near the reception when I had a stroll around the premises at 11pm. Thus, no room service after 11pm, I suppose. You have to order online (using Gojek or Grab for supper) if suddenly you feel hungry in the middle of the night. No worries, the area is easy to find using google map, and not far from night Indonesian food stalls.

Had a great experience at Ulaman Eco Retreat Bali.. We stayed at one bedRoom with private pool. We love the bamboo architecture.. The room was clean & hygiene . Bathroom has unique bathup made from wood.. In room dining has incredible taste beyond what we expected.. And they also provide the floating breakfast too ❤️Staffs really helpful. My wife and I spent two very lovely days and nights at Ulaman. First class accommodations throughout, from the perfectly appointed sleeping room with a private pool, serene bathroom with a hand made soaking tub, plenty of space for belongings, and an in-room espresso maker. Every meal was wonderfully prepared, was not typical Indonesian fare, and was fresh and made at the moment. The grounds are quiet, authentic and there's a waterfall on property. We enjoyed massages and other spa treatments, daily yoga in an elevated pagoda, and with the very strong wifi could also stay connected. We'll be returning to Ulaman Eco Resort again.

Pros: 1. The design of the hotel is beautiful and looks just like what's on the photos 2. We love the pool tiles. It really complements the lines and shapes of the buildings an the surrounding trees 3. Service is good but not exceptional 4. The yoga pavilion is the best part of the hotel. It is beautiful and functioning very well. It is also way more spacious than we thought 5. At first the price is very affordable for an "eco-lux" hotel, the words that they use to mention their hotel on instagram. But turns out there are reasons why the price is relatively chap. Read below
Cons: 1. I will start with the most simple fact: location. On instagram they wrote their location is in west Canggu. In reality this hotel is nowhere near Canggu! Not even in Pererenan! You can say you are in west Canggu if you are in echo beach or Pererenan at worst! 2. The room is small and dreadful. Its dark and too creaky to be called "luxury". In this case we compare your hotel with Fivelements and even some houses in Bambu Inda. And those two hotels don;t even dare to call themselves "lux" like what you did, again, on instagram! 3. Breakfast and ovrall foo option is rather limited 4. The noise from the neighbouring construction site is annoying though also understandable cause they mention it on their website 5. There was one instagrammer spending ages in the pool posing and taking photos like seriously?! It really ruined the relaxing vibe of the hotel 6. The main pool itself is small for a new hotel with 20 something rooms. We are comparing this to the previous small hotels we stayed at like Kayumanis Ubud an Nirjhara
Overall this hotel has a big potential if only the management didn't use fake information to avertise or promote their hotel as located in "west canggu" and "lux". Just be honest and people will respect! Our three major disappointment are relate to instagram (fake info, shameless instagrammers) so maybe the management put instagram as top priority than actual paying guest experience.
Other than that, there are not much to do around the hotel. It's not nearby the beach, no interesting view like valley, or rice field. The facilities are limited. If you happen to try a hotel in this area, just go Bali Beach Glamping or Nirjhara. Way better value for what you pay

Warm greetings ‘TrippySupervisor’ from Ulaman Eco Retreat and thank you for taking the time to write a review about our new resort and glad that you admire our design and spacious shala. We will always strive to improve our friendly and efficient service and welcome constructive and valid criticism. I will try and address all your points however based on your facts I’m questioning if you've even been here or stayed at our resort at all? And I'm asking this because many facts about our resort are inaccurate. 1) First of all, you mention that we have 20+ rooms and in fact we currently only have 11 and that our main pool is small where in fact it’s 25 meters long and is considered very big for a property of our size and is in actually larger than the ones you compared ours to; or is it possible that you were referring to one of the 8 additional ‘smaller’ private pools attached to our one-bedroom villas? 2) Again, I can't imagine that you actually stayed at our resort because all of our Private Villas are bright and have windows, full glass sliding doors opening out to the deck, pool and outdoor lounge area. Our floors can't be "creaky" as they're made from terrazzo which is a polished concrete. 3) Our breakfast menu has a lot of variety including local Indonesian and Western selections such as, pancakes, eggs any style, fruit platters and green juice and our main menus also has big selection and a descent variety of foods including, fish, chicken, vegetarian and vegan options. 4) Our current ‘opening rate’ promo have been extended during the construction of our phase 2 project and we feel as do all the guests who have in fact stayed with us agree that some of the amenities that makes us "lux/luxury" is that all our rooms have room service, wooden bathtubs, air conditioning, large smart TVs, Bluetooth speakers, espresso machines, stocked mini bar & fridge, extra comfortable mattress and beddings. 5) Let me now address “Location, Surroundings and What to do”; again, why I question if you've even been to Ulaman because if you have you can't help but to notice that we have a waterfall, jungle river valley and a tree house spa completely surrounded by beautiful rice terraces. 6) It is because of this beautiful natural Balinese landscape that most people who see view our resort on social media for the first time assume that we're actually located in Ubud area, combined with the fact that Tabanan is still relatively unknown and that we're actually only 15 min outside we feel it makes more sense for people to locate us saying “West Canggu”. It is not uncommon and is a known fact that there are several renowned resorts that are located more than 30 minutes outside of Ubud in Payangan area and have always advertised that they are located in Ubud. However please don’t hesitate to visit us and we’d be more than happy to give you a full personal and private tour of our resort including welcome drink, cold towels and refreshments so we can properly and fully show you our property and facilities. The room is very special in design and matches their eco-concept also the food was 10/10 very tasty and delicious. They did a great job during our stay, we feel like we are in Ubud not in Tabanan. Also, they have a special service that we never found at other hotels in Bali is they provide Netflix in the room

If you’re looking for someplace lux to stay this isn’t it. The bathroom tiles and outdoor furniture have mold all over. My room was close to the lobby and the phone continuously rang all night as no one is manning the lobby at night so make sure if you stay request to be far away from the lobby.
The main pool had a few loungers and doesn’t provide privacy for sunbathing as restaurant tables surround the area so it’s a very awkward placement. The loungers were also really moldy.
The food was not that great; I ordered the ulaman salad and many key ingredients were missing (tomatoes, cheese and avocado?!) and had to request for those ingredients to be added. And the weird thing is when they deliver the food to your room they expect you to pay for the bill immediately using a credit card instead of signing it to the room. I had never experienced that before in a hotel.
The service was very spotty. I asked for a flatter pillow repeatedly and no one got back to me and I had to chase the staff for an answer throughout the day. Housekeeping also didn’t return to clean my room as they said they would and I had to chase on that too.
I complained to the manager about my stay and he gave me a free massage which was kind of him. During the massage I could hear male workers downstairs chatting loudly and it made me feel very uncomfortable. Additionally, the curtains are sheer and if you’re changing in the massage shala people can see you from the restaurant.
The hotel has interesting architecture and the yoga shala is nice but there is so much room for improvement on so many fronts. Luckily the manager let me check out early and gave me my money back (I had to chase for my refund for ages as well, very unpleasant). I’m only giving it two stars because the manager was kind enough to understand that I was unhappy there. I really hope phase 2 of the hotel will be better.

I really felt extraordinary when I first visited this place. My curiosity immediately led me to explore this place. Starting from buildings made of bamboo, but it looks so magnificent and very unique. besides that the combination of nature and luxury makes this place look so special. I do like buildings that theme natural, traditional and unique, but this place has added value where the luxury side looks very clear, ranging from furniture, food and beverage offerings, bamboo architecture that is packaged so extraordinary. This place is also very contemporary, there are lots of photo spots for you who like photography, especially my favorite is the Main Villa, which is so uniquely designed and extraordinary, we feel we are on a cruise ship with views of green nature, rivers, rice fields. Uh very complete. and what made me very satisfied was the food, one of the most delicious vegetarian meals that I have ever eaten, because normally I don't like vegetarian food. The spa is also very special, in a bamboo house built on the river even without music and air conditioning you will feel a different spa sensation, definitely addicted. oh yeah the most makes me not bored is the atmosphere, very comfortable, calm and cool. far from the crowd. besides that Ulaman also has a yoga class, and the studio is very unique, and you should see, if you go to Bali, don't think twice, must visit Ulaman

Just 5 minute away from our favorite Suckling Pig in bali - babi guling slingsing.. that is how we found this sanctuary resort. At the google map — Ulaman Eco Resort
The architecture itself are exceptional with the look of bright bamboo structure— connected to the surrounding nature. The furniture and interiors are also very clean with the touch of natural materials like woven rattan..
We also tried Yoga with Ann (she also teaching at five elements). The Yoga Shala place are located just above the natural waterfall. I feel so HEALED! This resorts are one of a kind as it offers me not just visual but also serenity of nature, tweets of the birds, and the sound of the crickets at night.
I stayed for 3 nights and i can feel that my body and mind are recharged very well. On my painting hobby i spent my hours painting around the resorts. Then One afternoon after the Spa i went up nearby the lobby and follow the Warm sunlight until i found a beautiful sunset with a reflecting paddies.
It was a gorgeous day! Ahh dont forget to try their homemade wine Bali Sunset, it has smoky caramel flavor, i drink it everyday!!!
