A great holiday gateway .located next to Grand Hotel in a wonderful calm and quite environment. Well maintained rooms, Good hygiene practise,Lovley service by JIM and the rest of the staff members are amazing. Food is fantastic if you are a meet lover you should definitely try their special spicy pork stew .you will love it. Staff is very flexible you can customize your meal preferences all you got to do is just have a casual chat with them few hours before your meal time. I highly recommend this place one of the best holiday gateways ..💚

Very nice small hotel set in a colonial style bungalow, with a well laid out garden. They have just a few rooms, so the vibes are very homely contrasting to the plastic commercial hotels ! On a hill station, staying in a colonial style place adds to one’s experience. Location of the hotel is very good, very close to the golf course, post office and Victoria park, however tracing it was a little challenge as sign boards were missing. They need to put sign board on the main road, like other hotels did. It was a comfortable stay with hot water, twin bed and other basic amenities. The staff was courteous. Highly recommended if not looking for a star rating.

Such a beautiful cottage with very helpful and friendly staff. The hotel is situated in prime location. The dinner served was excellent ( little on the saltier side though) the breakfast was great too. The pretty garden outside looked serene and you will can take a lot of beautiful instaworthy shots :)

Photos are highly deceiving. Breakfast quality is questionable. It is recycled and very limited options. Hand wash sink floods, hot water shower needs to be held throughout. Rooms are not cleaned. Bed sheets are not changed. Rooms need vacuuming and moping. Very noisy. One can hear all the conversations held in the lobby into your room. Room woods are filthy and creaking. Dinner can't be served if you don't place your order by 6:30 pm.

The staff is friendly and professional. The location is amazing and the garden is well maintained. Rooms are clean and spacious. Do not forget to enjoy their complimentary breakfast with Sri Lankan and English food varieties. For lunch and dinner you can visit Grand Indian or Grand Thai which are just about walking distance.

This is located not much far from the Nuwara-eliya town, but nicely placed in a secluded nice area. Location is really beautiful and backing up by a beautiful mountain view.
This is a colonial type bungalow, that offers a great antique look and feel.
Staff was professional and helpful.
Food was tasty and amazing.
You won't be disappointed in this place even a little.

A memorable stay with my family at this cool climate.
Hill Cottage is one of my favourite places to go for a family vacation. I love the vibe and the surrounding at this beautiful property. Sucha calm environment and cozy rooms to rest. Everything was spotless and the staff was really good . Special thanks to Shivanathan for the excellent service and support throughout our stay . He made sure everything was on point and we almost felt home being at Hill Cottage.
Food was good however i suggest that it needs more improvement .
Overall everything was truly perfect.
I would definetly visit Hill Cottage and there is no hestitation in recommending this lovely property to anyone.

Very nice place with very friendly staff. The old building has been restored completely and is in a very nice condition. It is to be mentioned, that there is basically no noise insulation...but hey, it’s an old building so that’s okay. Other guests were very considerate about this. Also in our case it took a while until we did get hot water for the shower...but I think those are things that can be overseen considering you are in such a beautiful place. Breaktfast was good and you get fresh sausages and omelette.

Our stay at Hill Cottage was perfect. The old building was nicely renovated and it is located at very charm but still closeby place to Nuwara Eliya town. The staff was very friendly and nice. They don't have a buffet but they managed to give us whatever we have asked. It was definitely worth the price.

The room very dark and gloomy. The bathroom was FILTHY. Shower stall walls extremely dirty - never cleaned. The bidet washer was caked in public hair - disgusting!!!!!! The under side of toilet seat very dirty. No towels provided until we asked for them. Will never stay there again. Ugh!! The staff should be trained better with regard to how to clean the rooms/toilets. They are pleasant enough.

When we went there breakfast was included in our package and there was free Wi-Fi but in Sri Lanka it seems not particularly hi-speed anywhere! Also there was a "cold-snap" (about 55 t0 60 degrees F which is cold for us) but they happily provided and electric room heater.
There are more places to choose from in the Nuwara Eliya area.
