Stayed here for a recent University function. The rooms still have their sense of the former dorm that was in this building, but our room was not bad. Had to turn the faucet/shower knobs all the way to get fairly hot water. Room was looking a bit tired, but the price was very reasonable, free wireless internet, and the included...

I stayed here while attending a UW Extension Course. The location is fantastic. It is so easy to walk to restaurants, the lake, and the University. The rooms are a bit small, but were clean and the wifi was fast. The hotel is old and certainly not luxurious. However, it is a fine if you are in town for just...

I was in cold, rainy, windy snowy Madison for a conference recently, and stayed in the Lowell -- initial impressions not great, a tall narrow modern-ish building that looked suspiciously like an old dorm. Narrow hallways. Low ceilings. But once I got upstairs, the room was on the small size yes, but quite nicely furnished. You can't beat the location,...

Big rooms, some with nice views. Very comfortable beds and clean service. Good wifi internet connection from the rooms. There is small swimming-pool downstairs, a sauna and also a fitness center (all for free). Perfect location for working at UW, in the heart of State Street, with many restaurants and other attractions within walking distance. Breakfast includes some healthy choices,...

I stayed here for a UW Extension course that was taking place at the Pyle center just a block and a half down the street. The day I got there it was an unusually warm day (in the 70's in mid march) and when I got to my room, it was hot and stuffy. I did not see any room...

The facility is currently being renovated, and the room that I was assigned to was on a floor that was being redone. Should not have put people on that floor. Hallways and carpets littered with construction materials, tools and debris. Hot water was also not really working well, and had a brownish rusty color. Am a government worker and have...

We are certainly very sorry you had a less-than-excellent experience with us this time. We hear your frustration around the remodeling work on-site and would like to apologize for any inconvenience we caused with our minor construction projects. Remodeling work was scheduled to begin after 8am. Unfortunately our subcontractor started earlier, which caused some noise complaints. We gave credits to...

The Lowell Center is my go-to hotel when traveling to Madison to visit the UW-Madison campus or anything on State street. The location absolutely can't be beat. The bonus for me is that at state-rates, the pricing is perfect and they throw in a fabulous hot breakfast as well. If you can get a room on the newly renovated side...
