Karen and Jack welcomed us for lunch. The view was spectacular. We were offered drinks and a three course meal. Excellent. The food was delicious and Karen is amazing especially with her tiny kitchen. I don't know how she does it! The we had fish and couscous with zucchini and everything was seasoned to perfection. The chocolate banana ice cream...

Karen does a wonderful job preparing meals, but that is where the niceties end. We stayed four nights at the bungalow (we originally booked five but left early). After dark (6pm) there is absolutely nothing to do. The wifi only works at the main house not at the bungalows. If you want to play a board game or cards there...

We appreciate all input and comments. All we can say is that this couple did not stop complaining about the roads, the heat, the accommodations (not only here but in their previous stay) the bugs and insects of the jungle. Our bungalows are promoted as " ROMANTIC & PRIVATE" being close to nature and right in front of the sea on...

We were recommended to visit San Juanillo by backpackers that we met during our trip to Guanacaste and were very excited to see it. We were driving from Montezuma all day without 2 year old so when we finally got there, we were exhausted and looking forward to checking into a room. We saw that Treetop had availability on bookings.com...

After speaking with our non-speaking English watchman it is correct that the time was 8PM. Very dark after sunset at 5:40PM. The main gate was absolutely closed with two signs in English & Spanish " CLOSED" & the other " PLEASE RING BELL AND WAIT TO BE ATTENDED". I was told that these people opened the double gate and drove...

This small place is off the beaten path, and the couple that own it and run it do not advertise. They have a small dining area that feels like a treehouse overlooking the ocean. We had a freshly prepared sautéed fish for lunch, a good bottle of wine, and a home made chocolate coconut gelato for desert. The serve dinner...

This place is absolutely beautiful, with fun loving, informative proprietors. Accommodations are simple, clean and rustic...and the food is to die for. What an amazing beach, and a billion dollar view. We had a super fun relaxing experience. Jack and Karen very warm and friendly. I can't wait to go back and see them again.

We loved Treetops. Jack and Karen were so friendly, we felt like family right away. The location was beautiful, as were the views and the room. It felt like our own private beach house with adjacent ocean. The room was very comfortably and clean (we stayed in the main house). Karen made, without a doubt, the BEST food we had...

This place is so magical, where to begin? It is built in the traditional Costa Rican style, so is unique and romantic and an experience like no other. I stayed up late on the deck looking at stars and listening to the waves, then swam in the ocean and bathed in the tide pools. I used every bathing suit I...

First, I just read the "Wet Blanket" review and it doesn't make sense to me. The guest praises the food, the setting and the host, becomes upset at the bill and gives it an overall rating of 1 out of 5? That doesn't make sense. I've had dinner there a few times. It is a unique experience that I cannot...
