Outside of the hub-bub, but walking distance from everything. Great breakfasts, fridge full of $2 local beers, very private and relaxing courtyard. Good beds. Good folks running the place. We will be back next time we are down that way!

Spent 4 nights in this wonderful b&b in a fantastic city. Great location, near the French quarter, but not right in the middle of the action, which is a good thing, trust me. The bywater area is also of interest, with good restaurants and a not so touristy vibe. Hosts were great and friendly, and very knowledgeable about the city,...

Stayed at this lovely little B and B with my husband a couple of years ago. Returned with a friend this year. Dana and Tom, the innkeepers, make you feel like family and go above and beyond to help you see the hidden gems of New Orleans. Rooms are very nice and this neighborhood is perfectly situated close to so...

Our first visit to New Orleans and the B&W courtyard was an excellent choice for our stay. Tom and Dana are great hosts with a lot of helpful information. Accommodations were very nice, we stayed in the room in the front courtyard by the fish pond. Very peaceful. Breakfasts were very fresh and tasty! We had no car so was...

Located a couple of blocks from the French quarter, easy walking distance; room by the courtyard, no problems with the fountains previously noted on tripadvisor; room was comfortable, clean and traditional, the shower and toilet are off the room are a little small but were adequate. Breakfast - home made alternating sweet and savoury was the best breakfast of our...

Especially loved the second floor room, made for a very comfortable & quiet stay. A healthy breakfast was a good way to start the day. The tips on where to eat & what to see were also very helpful. Especially a walking "Musical Mystery Tour" of the French Quarter with Chris Rose - a highlight of our stay in N'awlins....

This was our third visit to B&W Courtyards and it remains our favourite place to stay in New Orleans, indeed in the US. What B and B's can offer that you miss out on with Airbnb is the daily contact with hosts who can enrich your experience of the place you are visiting, and that's what we always get at...

This B&B is "Nawlins Funky" and I mean this in a good way. This is not your standard place but the rooms were pretty spacious, well-equipped, clean, and comfortable. The breakfasts were filling and yummy. The B&B is walking distance to the French Quarter and right around corner from Frenchman Street (check it out if you haven't ~ lots of...

Excellent B and B. Tom and Dana are great hosts. Room was very clean, comfortable, bathroom updated. Tom's breakfasts are great. Most of all, we appreciated all of his tips for Taxi service, what to do, restaurants… extremely valuable!

My wife and I visited New Orleans to celebrate her 50th birthday. We stayed three nights at B&W Courtyards. What a charming, quiet place just minutes from the hubbub of Frenchman Street and a few more minutes walk to the French Quarter. Our room was comfortable and quiet, with only the sound of a water garden feature outside our door....

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
