We were planning a 7 week trip to USA and Canada and I think I found this place in a "Rough Guide" travel book. It looked so quaint, I checked the reviews and then ended up booking it more than a year in advance to get something with more character than a bland hotel room. In itself, booking was a...

We just got back from our trip to New Orleans and I couldn't wait to put a review up for this place. We stayed in the Green Room and it was perfect. There were 3 of us, my husband and myself and a good friend. The only downfall of the adjoined rooms was that she had to go through our...

I stayed in a studio. The pros are: charming house and furniture, gracious and organized host, and a convenient location. The cons are: cramped and dated bathroom, dirty rugs and walls, and Bourbon street noise all night long.

First- Don't let the fact that the Burgoyne is on Bourbon St scare you away; it's several blocks away from all the alcohol-fueled inner ear-damaging neon-lit madness that one generally associates with Bourbon St. And the rooms are set back from the street, looking out over a beautiful, jungly courtyard (Burgoyne and Bon Maison next door share a divided courtyard)....

We were looking for a place to stay close to Bourbon Street. I found this guest house in Tripadvisor. I have to admit it is not in the best shape but it was perfect for us. It was right on Bourbon at the quiet end. J the owner is fantastic. He was incredibly helpful and very funny. They were shooting...

When we came a day late because of a flight delay, Jay casually said he didn't want us to have to pay for the wasted night, which was incredibly generous of him -- and a sign of the kind of business he runs. The studio we stayed in was clean and pretty. I am super paranoid about bedbugs and actually...

Like the reviews that I read on here before I went to the Bourgoyne Guest House, I have to agree with most. It is a great place to stay and it is right on Bourbon Street. We had a great time in New Orleans and also at the Bourgoyne Guest House. You must realize that there isn't a tv and...

Way late in my review, but wanted to post something nonetheless. We stayed here for Halloween weekend last year and absolutely enjoyed our stay. You cannot find a better location in the French Quarter if you want to be near all the action, sights, and fun. We stayed in the Green Room, and were able to enjoy all the Halloween...

I heard about this place via trip advisor. We were going to New Orleans for 3 nights and I wanted somewhere that seemed safe / had a balcony / had some character. What I got was one of the coolest places ever. My wife and I are 25 and love quirky b&bs. While no breakfast - this place has so...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
