The room was street side which was noisy, especially in the early morning hours, plus there was a non-stop banging noise within the walls of the bathroom day and night. The thermostat was set at 60 degrees but barely kept us cool. I thought this hotel would be quant, cute and cozy but it was anything but. It's old and...

It's an expensive area to visit. The hotel was average, a little dated. Generally clean and serviceable. Frankly for the money, I expected much more. But it was a good stay on the whole. I would probably only stay here if I got a good deal on the price and if the hotel addressed a few issues. Room Ac was...

Very nice, just wish the parking was included in our stay. Very close to Burbon Street...within walking distance of most attractions. Does not have microwaves in the rooms, but they offer cookies and tea/lemonade by the pool.

I rarely say anything negative when reviewing so take the time to read this as there are many other choices for a hotel within blocks of this one. Our arrival to this place was regrettable and quite surreal. Most of the staff at the reception were indifferent and could not be bothered to even try and help you out. They...

MTLtravel99, I am very sorry for the terrible experience. There is certainly no reason, anyone should have treated you in this manner. Please contact me directly at 504-529-7505 so I can make this right with you. I will speak with the manager that you dealt with. This type of service is not what we are known for and what guests...

Even though the Dauphine is perfectly located to all French Quarters goings on, it's also the perfect getaway when all that is Bourbon Street can get to be too much. The rooms were very clean with a homey feeling. Even the on-site bar "May Baileys" is comforting in a not so crazy way. Really enjoyed my stay at the Dauphine!

We got here early and was told our room would be ready at 3 and we would get a very nice room. At 3 they said they had made a mistake and we would get an even better room! We were so impressed with how nice and helpful every employee was that we spoke with. This is a great location...

The hotel is well situated in the French Quarter and had a quaint charm inside and out. Although you could tell it was a little older and you could smell some dampness, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the beds were very comfy. I loved the shutters on the windows instead of curtains. Our room was on the second...

Didn't enjoy the experience at the hotel. Cleanliness was lacking in the room and the view was terrible. Room was not serviced one day and had to report to front desk. Bathrooms need a bit more attention to detail. Mattress was dirty and uncomfortable.

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
