This is a historical hotel and the furniture in the room was not as clean as ones desire for a 4-5 star hotel. The service provided by the hotel was very accommodating. The food was delicious however the price was a little expensive. If you are looking for a hotel in the heart of New Orleans and good security this...

Elegant 'old' hotel that is very well done. Service is excellent. The rooms are small, similar to a NYC hotel, but well appointed, comfortable and quiet--something you don't always get in NOLA. The only real negative is the entrance/exit situation of the hotel which is overly complicated if you happen to be driving. The hotel needs to buy the parking...

We spent last weekend at The Roosevelt. The location is convenient for walkers, but also directly across the street from a very seedy massage parlor. The main lobby was very grand, however the front desk service was not at all of the usual caliber of Waldorf Hotels. In addition, we had reserved a suite that was charging extra to have...

The hotel is beautiful and grand, in line with its historic status. The lobby was always very lively. We had a suite, which had a separate bedroom (with king bed) and then a living area (with fold out couch which was great for our daughter). There was a dressing table in the short "hall" connecting the two -- but no...

This hotel has a beautiful lobby, the bars and restaurants on site are nice. That said, the rooms are small to the point of cramped and the location of the hotel is across Canal Street. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
