From the first moment through checkout, the Roosevelt is as impressive as it is classy. The room we had (superior King) was much larger than I expected for an old hotel. But you won't spend much time in the room in New Orleans. The lobby is so classic, I am just mad we missed the Christmas decorations. The Sazerac is...

We spent 4 nights at The Roosevelt to celebrate our daughter's 21st birthday. We booked a corner suite and a King room right next door, which worked out very well indeed - the large living room in the suite made getting together very easy and comfortable. Okay, this place is not cheap - but it's a classic hotel in the...

The staff at the Waldorf New Orleans is absolutely the worst I have ever encountered. After my first stay there, where the service was not acceptable, I decided to give them a second chance. What a mistake, the management, and the staff are rude, arrogant and have a snobbish attitude. People get ignored in the bars and restaurants, they are...

We stayed here for four nights with four kids and may have had the best big city hotel experience ever. The room was spacious and clean, in fact the entire hotel was spacious and clean. This is a first class stay...

Elegant hotel with an old time feel w/ gigantic chandeliers to greet you in the grand lobby. It was Christmas time and it was the most elegantly decorated lobby I has ever seen... Thousands of lights, poinsettias and even children visiting Santa with Mrs.Claus and their helpers.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
