Excellent location (very short walk to the French Quarter) and nice rooms. We stayed here for a couple nights before a cruise while we saw the New Orleans sights and it was perfect. Would highly recommend!

We were in town to celebrate my niece's college graduation and my brother recommended out of town guests stay here, so my entire family booked rooms. While I've stayed at Marriott hotels before, I've never stayed in a JW property. The service was excellent and very friendly. The doormen not only greeted us every time we returned, they even offered...

You will be hard pressed to find a friendlier staff than that of the JW Marriott New Orleans. Recently stayed there for four nights and everything was wonderful. Across the street from Bourbon Street so it's a close walk but far away enough to be quiet.

Older property with a few more recent flourishes in common areas. Nice two-level concierge lounge with excellent staff (and Illy coffee, too). Bar is not set up well and servers seem to always be in demand if you're not on the bar side. Rooms are typical JW style but really in need of updating to something more current. We use...

The location was great. Within easy walking distance to the French Quarter. The room was excellent - clean & comfortable. The staff was helpful and courteous (front desk, concierge, and bartender). We were provided a late checkout, which is part of the Elite status. We weren't told that the pool was closed, but happened to talk to other guests in...

The rooms are good quality, but everything is additional expense - I'm surprised water usage want included in my bill. $42 a night for parking with no option but valet - took 25 minutes for them to retrieve my car in the morning, $12 for WiFi... Breakfast is an additional charge. I've stayed in $70 a night hotels with most...

My apologizes for the issues you encountered during your stay at the JW Marriott. Unfortunately Valet is the option due to the steepness of our garage and the liability of allowing guest to drive up it, I have shared the fact that you waited a long time for your vehicle with our Valet Manager. As far as the service failures,...

Front desk staff very friendly and professional. They allowed us to check in early which was great!!! We had an issue right after check in with the housekeeping staff, it was fixed immediately although we had to involve management. I suggest make sure all bedding is clean. Bathroom is very small and nothing luxury or JW Marriott standard about the...

Stayed 3 nights in May. The location was great, but unfortunately not much else was. The first night the a/c was dripping. Someone came to supposedly fix it, but 2 days later it was dripping again. The pool was closed for our entire stay due to a leak. The room itself felt cramped. Beds and pillows were fairly comfy. It's...

We stayed at this hotel for three nights and it was a very comfortable stay. The French Quarter was within walking distance as were the street car stops. We had executive lounge access and enjoyed the complimentary breakfast. The hors d'oeuvres on week nights were well presented and could easily pass for dining at a good restaurant. Will definitely return.

The hotel is right in the heart of New Orleans easy to get to any point of the downtown. The personnel is very kind and helpful. I stayed here for 4 days for a conference and the entire staying I felt very comfortable.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
