This hotel is in the heart of the French Quarter along Canal street. Walking distance to Bourbon Street and great shopping. There were a few flaws which is why I gave it a 4 and not a 5. The common areas were nice and not over crowded but the area when you get off the elevators on each floor was...

Any time my husband and I come to New Orleans, there's no question, we stay at the JW Marriott. It's conveniently located to areas you want to be. Easy access in and out. The rooms are very nice and clean. And the service in the entire hotel was spot on. We had the pleasure of meeting Terrell the bell boy...

The hotel is in a great location! Just outside of all the action - easy walk to get to Jackson Square and Bourbon Street. The rooms were very nice and clean. The pool area is small but still great for a quick bit of relaxation. Skip the spa! One of the worst overpriced experiences my friends and I ever had....

I was really looking forward to staying at this property. When I booked it on line, there was no mention of construction going on. My partner arrived a day before me and told me what he had found in the room. A pair of dirty socks were left in the closet. The sheets had holes in then. I was very...

I thought that since I reserved this room through the Priceline "Mystery" deal, and got it for a song, we might not be treated quite as well as if we had paid more. I was so mistaken. From the moment we check in, we were given top notch treatment by the entire staff. And our housekeeper, Lidia, was the best....

I stayed here for a quick overnight trip. The way the hotel is designed you have direct access to Canal and Bourbon Street but it doesn't have access to you. The rooms offer a tranquil sophisticated atmosphere. So no matter the reason for your visit the JW offers a delightful setting. Also the staff seemed to be helpful and accommodating.

Great hotel in a great city. We stayed at the JW Marriott during French Quarter Fest. This was the perfect location. Close but far enough away to act as our oasis. Great people and great rooms. Very quiet with an excellent Executive Lounge for breakfast and snacks. Will definitely return.

When it comes to a hotel I tend to be very practical. I want a clear comfortable room in a good location. The JW Marriott fit this bill - the room was clean and the bed very comfortable. I've stayed in more than a few JW's on business travel. This one is just okay. Some staff is great, others barely know you're there. Rooms are small, but it is in a great location. The bar and restaurant are hugely overpriced, but good atmosphere. Rooms are often available. Not the best JW, but comfortable enough.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
