Paul the doorman was the best; he provided great recommendations. Nice place, great amenities. We went for a bachelorette party. Great location near all the places you'd want to go. Hotel staff was great. (Even after I yelled at them for not giving me a room key because I was blacked out and wasn't the person whose name the room...

Up to standard for Marriott room with a view. My son and I went "ghost hunting" in New Orleans and this was an above average hotel. Clean, nicely decorated room with plenty of storage for 2 and on an upper floor. It made a cool respite from humid walks. The iced fruit water was a nice touch in the lobby....

I stayed here for 2 nights for a business trip and having stayed at many JWs before I expected a higher level of service and attention to detail. Maybe it was the time I was there, not sure- but thought July in New Orleans would be slower? I rated it 3 stars because of their lack of attention to details:...

The hotel was very nice and the hotel staff was excellent. The hotel is very convenient to most of the attractions in the business district. The beds were so comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud!

I just came back from a wonderful stay at the JW Marriott New Orleans. My room was beautiful, spacious, and nicely appointed. However, in comparison to the guest room, I felt that the bathroom was rather basic and lacked a sense of elegance that I have come to expect at JW Marriott hotels. Turndown service was great. The hotel recently...

I won't be staying here again! Was not greeted by the valet, given incorrect room size, housekeeping knocked on door at 9 a.m. When we had late checkout, and employees were counting their tips at the front door in front of guests. Definitely NOT worth the room charge!

Great location, and excellent vodka tonics. The only suggestion is they need to change their address to Common St instead of Canal as the main entrance is on Common St and not Canal. .... Nice sized room that was super clean with uber comfy beds. For the cost, it would have been great to have breakfast included. We met once a year to get a break from the office and picked here. Construction wasn't an issue but there is construction going on and can cause issues with the elevator. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
