We stayed there for 5 nights and loved it. I booked a balcony room so we could see Jackson Square. Staying in an 18 th century building was so different. Had character. My whole family was comfortable. I would stay there again.

This is not your typical hotel. It is next to Jackson Square and has a really nice, large courtyard in the center of the grounds surrounded by the hotel itself. The courtyard has trees, a nice pool, and tables. It is remarkable how quiet it is and is a very nice respite from the crowds. Also, the pricing is decent...

You really can't beat Place D'Arms for old world French Quarter atmosphere! Located steps from Jackson square, this 18th and 19th century building has charm and convenience. The hotel is deceiving.... A simple French Quarter entrance and lobby, leads to many hidden building and a lovely courtyard with a pool. Our room was well decorated, very clean and had most...

The location is perfect! 1/2 block from Jackson square 1/2 block to Royal Street, 1 block to Bourbon Street. Close to French market. Close to everything-it's in the heart of the French Quarter. This place has a lot of atmosphere. The buildings are old and are built around a courtyard. Lots of brick and cobblestones. Courtyard has a pool and...

This hotel is located on St. Ann street with is right next door to St. Louis cathedral. Which is a major perk. I had room 218 and it was 2 queen beds with a balcony. The room was bigger than I thought it would be so that was a nice surprise. The continental breakfast was really just pastries, juice and...

The Place d'Armes Hotel is in the middle of everything going on in the French Quarter, being off of St Ann Street but it still manages to feel secluded and quiet. It isn't a grand hotel with a marble foyer like some others in the French Quarter but when you walk into their small lobby they warmly greet you and...

This little gem of a hotel was recommended to us by a friend and we were all so grateful for her recommendation. Six of us recently stayed here to celebrate my daughter's 30th birthday and we had a grand time! It's so close to everything. We had a 2nd floor balcony room and could see all the activities going on...

After experiencing an indifferent staff at a Garden District hotel, I was overwhelmed by the graciousness of the staff at Place d'Armes and loved every minute of my two-day stay. The room was charming, the courtyards such a welcome retreat after the day's activities, Dionne was so helpful, along with the rest of the staff and the lovely lady at...

We stayed for 2 nights with our 10 year old son. The hotel was charming and the staff friendly. The courtyard was peaceful. Free Continental breakfast was wonderful. Our only complaint was we paid extra for a street side balcony view so we could people watch, but there was a huge generator parked right in front that ran very loudly...

The rooms are not all that fancy, but the room and the hotel suited our needs just fine. The hotel staff are very friendly and and very helpful. We loved the continental breakfast - it wasn't much, but definitely held us over until lunch. The courtyard is very charming. Most important, the LOCATION is amazing! It is within walking distance...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
