Warm greeting on arrival with extremely friendly hotel staff. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a king and courtyard view. There's a delightful patio area in the courtyard, near the pool. Great place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine. Weather is everything, of course, but even with a late November stay, and clouds, the temperature was still pleasant enough for shirt sleeves. Late one night on our return to our room, our key didn't work. A trip to the lobby and new key didn't solve the problem. But Alton, the night attendant gave it his all and determined the problem wasn't with our key, but the door lock itself, and likely couldn't be fixed til the morning. So he afforded us the room next door, but within a few minutes, managed to get our own room door open. And all the while smiling and telling us it would be all right in a few moments, and he was right. If you stay at this wonderful hotel (on St. Anne right next to Jackson Square, and you see him, say hello to Alton and thank him again for us.…
I spent a lot of time on TA searching hotels for my husband’s surprise birthday trip to NOLA. Let me just say that all my research paid off and staying at Place d’Armes was one of our trip highlights. First impressions are everything….PATRICE and ANDREW were who we met first, both friendly and smiling. We arrived on Monday July 18 around 1:30 p.m and were assigned room 215. There was so much we loved about the room…apparently the room had been remodeled recently. Our room was clean and spacious…we loved the view of the courtyard from our balcony, housekeeping provided clean towels daily, the cooling system was easy to control (loved the added ceiling fan), refrigerator perfect temp, safe and the overall vintage look of our room. This hotel is about 2 blocks from Cafe du Monde and 1/2 block from Cathedral Square and many other restaurants/shopping on Decatur. It’s also not too far from Bourbon Street (about 2 blocks)…close enough to walk to but far enough away from the noise. The hotel is also a 5-7 minute walk to The French Market. Armstrong Park is about 7-8 minute walk. The Place d’Armes definitely provided us with some serenity and calm after walking the FQ each day. We enjoyed talking to staff about their beloved city and welcomed all suggestions from them. Tips: *different room types check the website for what’s best for you *purchase bottled water to keep in your refrigerator (we went to Rouse’s market which was a few blocks away on Royal St.) * don’t forget swimsuits for the outdoor pool *take the time to learn the history of the hotel *enjoy the peace of your balcony or courtyard Let me end with this….it takes a group effort to make a vision come to life. Every employee (housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, parking attendant) that we encountered from July 18-23 added their piece to the make the puzzle complete. We’re definitely highly satisfied and will return in the future.…
Highly recommend this hotel. Great location. Recently renovated and felt like I was the first guest to sleep in the room. Friendly staff, and delicious restaurant (Brasserie 701, with the best eggs benedict). I plan to return.
This is the second time we have stayed at Place d/Armes Hotel. Both times we had a relaxing stay. Our room was cozy and very quiet. The hotel is in a good location and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted.
Place d’ Armes is a beautiful hotel with historical look but updated rooms and amenities. It is only a half block to Jackson Square and within easy walking distance to lots of good restaurants and shopping . The staff was very friendly and we live having valet parking next door.
I cannot say enough amazing things about this hotel. First, the location is amazing. This place has so much beautiful “Nola” character and charm. The staff were lovely. Our room was so clean and beautiful. The courtyard is stunning. Our 3 young kids absolutely loved finding all the balconies and little ponds. One of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed at!
Second time my wife and I have stayed here. Great location. Literally 5 minute walk to Jackson Square , Cafe du Monde etc....Staff is a pleasant as can be. Rooms are comfortable and clean. The showers are orgasmic. Worth every penny. If you rent a car the parking is in the building on site. Nice courtyard to hang out in and a swimming pool that is maintained impeccably. Definitely give Place d ' Armes a try.
We didn’t want to leave! Awesome place/location, awesome staff. The room AC worked so well, the 1st night I was a little chilly. Next day, I walked out the door and found someone working - asked where I could find a blanket. This gentlemen stopped what he was doing to get me a blanket. We had 2 different bellmen that were both so sweet and helpful (gave us tips where to eat, etc). I asked the sweet young lady at the front desk for champagne. She said they had it and the bellman delivered super fast. Parking ($42+ tax) - SO worth it and safe! We drove to the hotel in my F150 - my antenna touched the top of the garage, but it fit! It gets so busy in the Quarter - I would have hated trying to find parking elsewhere.
Perfect location and wonderful staff! We stayed at the Place d’armes hotel for a bachelorette Halloween weekend. The hotel itself is very beautiful keeping its historical outside appearance while the interior was modern and well furnished. The bed was incredibly comfortable and the room was very spacious. The hotel is situated in a prime location within the French quarters and short walking distance to amazing shops and restaurants. There is also a grocery store just a block away for room essentials. Despite all the great things the hotel has to offer what made our stay even more wonderful was the staff! They even surprised us with a bottle of champagne and card congratulating our bride to be. It was extremely thoughtful and made our experience that much more memorable. We absolutely loved this place and will be coming back to stay on all future visits!!…
I had a great stay at Place D’Armes. The front desk and bellmen were very friendly. The courtyards are beautiful and the location is perfect. You’re steps away from Jackson Square. The rooms are nicely appointed - mini fridge, closet space, and room safe. I look forward to staying here again.
