Up until this visit to New Orleans I had very different opinions of "The Big Easy" and only went to appease my wife. What a difference a day makes...! I love New Orleans, The French Quarter and the Frenchman hotel. Okay, the pool area got a little noisy late at night... so what! The front desk staff was awesome. Free...

Went for Jazziest and had the best time at this hotel. The staff and location are fantastic. Loved the little courtyard pool. Some great room options. We felt safe and really comfortable at the hotel.

My best friend and her two daughters (teen and 20 something), were down for the weekend. We booked the Queen Loft for four. Upon arrival, there were only two bath towels and two wash cloths. The sleeper sofa did not have a fitted sheet to sleep on, and the only bedding was a flat sheet. The bed in the loft...

This hotel is old but very well maintained and operated. "RJ" and others at the front desk were extremely helpful and accommodating. We had the upstairs two bedroom suite #300 and it was fantastic. Second floor balcony with chairs was awesome at night to sit outside and people watch. Bring earplugs for the noise at night because this hotel sits...

Steve, Hey thanks for writing. You've captured us brilliantly. We advertise as being in the heart of the music scene on Frenchmen. That's not an exaggeration. We couldn't be happier to hear that you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again soon.

If you are looking for a hotel in New Orleans, this is the place. The location is great - right on frenchman and a short walk to the french quarter. The staff is super helpful and rooms are comfortable and clean. A great spot if you are looking to be out and about in the city and hear lots of...

One of the best Hotels I have stayed in. Staff was helpful and among the best. Room was extraordinary. Could only stay one night for business but will come back without question. The setting and layout of the place are calming and tranquil. Each picture is exactly how the place looks. Not some file photos from 10 years ago. Recommend...

Scot, What a wonderful review. You seem to get us. We are definitely New Orleans and you are so right about their being plenty of Branded Hotels and 'Frat Houses' in and around Canal and Bourbon. Thanks so much for sharing. We hope to see you again there very soon.

laugre12261, Thanks for writing. We don't know whether you booked on line or actually spoke to someone but there is a description of the rooms on our sites. You booked a loft room. We've never, to my knowledge, had a complaint about a 'smell' from the pool, but thanks for sharing and we'll have that checked.

Great beds, Close to the possibly best part of the Quarter, yet quiet enough in the room to get some much needed rest. Staff is great and friendly. I have stayed there a few times, and have never been disappointed.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
