The cable would not work, so could not watch TV. Not much help when front desk was called. Otherwise, room decor was very nice. My room was in the front of hotel so I could hear the loud music from club across street

Kimh, Thanks for taking the time to write. It is a problem with the TV's here. Our cable company, a monopoly of course, insisted on us putting their digital boxes in (an additiional box) and then didn't program half of them. You can imagine then nightmare we're having trying to get them back here to fix the issue. As to...

Great location because we like the entertainment in the area, liked the hotel layout which allowed guests to visit around the pool, friendly/helpful staff, the Frenchman Street location met our needs since we no longer prefer Bourbon Street

Dale, Wonderful to hear from you. Thank you so much for writing. We do get a lot of people who have left Bourbon for Frenchmen. Welcome aboard.

For those of you who do not shy away from a good time, the Frenchman Hotel is the ideal place to stay! Located on Frenchman Street, home to a series of amazing Jazz and Blues venues, the Frenchman Hotel offers all of the flavors and festivities of the French Quarter without the adolescent mania of Bourbon Street. Doze off to...

mariak2016, Wow, that was a wonderful review. Thank you so much for writing. Let's not forget either that you can walk up the levy to catch the streetcar and get dropped off at the shops at the Riverwalk. Always a good way to spend lazy afternoon (and buy that new Coach bag).

The location was perfect for access to great restaurants, bars and shopping. It was close enough to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street to party, but far enough to see other sites. They also have the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on.

Phil65109, Good of you to write. Thank you. We do appreciate the comments about the beds. They were one of the first things the owner changed when he purchased the establishment. It seems to have been a wise move. Again, thanks.

Loved everything about this hotel! Would have preferred to have a mini fridge in the room, however, and also a microwave! The staff was very friendly and the pool area was beautiful! I liked having access to the outdoor pool bathroom as well

Management response:

Kelly, It is good of you to write. Thank you for that. We have actually tried the Mini Fridges in the rooms and they were not liked by the guests, as they took up too much space. A Microwave is an interesting thought and we will discuss it.

The hotel is a few historic buildings cobbled together around a pool which creates a fun atmosphere. Rooms seem to vary, I love that they are not typical hotel rooms. Staff is very friendly and helpful for basic requests. Challenge is that they weren't willing to address loud guests. We had consistently loud neighbors who kept us up late and...

Shari D, Thanks so much for taking the time to write. We are aware of the problem with the pool, which is to shut at Midnight. The agent's lack of fortitude to address the issue is one we must address and actually have in the past. We do appreciate you letting know about this and rest assured it will be...

Great location, awesome music scene & nightlife, and an easy walk to everywhere. You'll never eat better than you will in NOLA. Arnauds was perfect, oysters everyday, crawfish were in season, and plenty of good drinks!

Our room was small but adequate, very clean, the bed was comfortable. But the location was the biggest seller for us. The staff were all very nice, and helpful with tips on the best places to eat, and local clubs.

Great hotel that is within walking distance to everything in the French Quarter. Very clean & neat. Love the old charm of the building. Very friendly & helpful staff. Gated parking was a plus. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to experience New Orleans.

The Frenchman Hotel is in the hippest and coolest area of New Orleans, Frenchman Street! Right outside your door are great restaurants and live music/clubs. Also just a block from the Riverfront Trolley station.

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
