This may be my sixth or seventh time staying at Creole Gardens and each time I arrive, it feels immediately like my very colorful home away from home. Funky, eccentric, fun, bright with a definite artsy/vintage vibe, Creole Gardens offers a true authentic NOLA experience. It's not over-the-top fancy or stuffy, so if you're looking for that, keep looking. Its... More

Pros: - Good breakfast at a reasonable time. (7:30-9:30 weekdays and 8:30-10:30 weekends). - Awesome location. - Staff is super friendly. - Lots of recommendations for places to go in the area. Cons: - Rooms are a bit small. - Bathroom floor was not cleaned before we got there. (Or someone walked across it with dirty shoes before we got... More

My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in the bordello room #4. The hotel is a swell oasis and make a wonderful base for exploring NO. The rooms are all idiosyncratic, but in a great way. We loved ours. All the staff were very welcoming, helpful and kind. The streetcar is a block away, but the room was quiet.... More

I was in NOLA for a conference. Absolutely loved this hotel and its quaint, old world feel. Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was simple but fantastic - hot and delicious. Walking distance from the Convention center and many restaurants. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, next time in NOLA.

This was an amazing place. My husband and I stayed at Creole Gardens for our honeymoon and enjoyed every moment! Initially, I was not sure how I felt about staying outside of the French Quarter but I am glad we chose Creole Gardens. It was the best! The Inn was quiet and nestled in a perfect location. It was close... More

Loved this place, I cannot say enough good things~truly. Where to start... When I called to find out about booking they were friendly and helpful about what to anticipate for our first stay in NOLA especially for Halloween. They called two days before our arrival to see when we would be checking in to make sure if it wasn't while... More

Due to last minute booking, we were only here for one night during our stay in New Orleans. I WISH we had spent our entire stay here. The property is cozy, nice big furniture and funky bright decorations. Our room was in the bordello annex and the room door had a welcome on it from a lady of negotiable affection... More

We also wish your stay had been longer. We will look forward to your next visit. Thank you for saying so many nice things about us. Such a great way of describing the madame whose name we borrowed for your bordello room: "a lady of negotiable affection". Perhaps next time you can stay in one of our colorful Cottage rooms,... I really need to rave about this place for a minute. I love how cozy the house itself is- there are rooms in the back area and there is a nice colorful patio. We were in one of the back rooms that is right off of the street and it was nice and quiet and we weren't bothered at all.... More

Staying in Garden District

Neighbourhood Profile
Garden District
Head to the Garden District for the full-on New Orleans experience replete with quaintly clanking streetcars, proudly grandiose antebellum mansions, picture perfect avenues lined with live oaks loaded down with Spanish moss, and a wealth of beautiful churches and many more architectural marvels. Even a brief excursion here makes plain why it’s called the Garden District. So, when you visit be sure to give yourself ample time for admiration at a languidly slow pace befitting such gentile strand of riverside living and to allow you to maximize each opportunity to stop and smell the roses – and whichever other blooms you might come across. While taking it all in, you’d do well to dine at one of the city’s most beloved destinations for regional cuisine. Gourmands from far and wide (and right round the corner) swear the age-old Commander’s Palace is the best restaurant in town – and have been doing so since it opened back in 1880.
