Stayed at the Columns the evening of November 6th. Checked in and didn't get too concerned that the room thermostat showed 63, just turned it up and went out to dinner. Very concerned when we returned and it still showed 63. The first cold wave of the season was coming through and it was in the low 30's outside.Front desk...

This is a beautiful old hotel with a big porch. We sipped mint juleps outside on the porch and were able to watch the world pass by. The bar inside is filled with history. Pretty Baby with Brooke Shields was filmed here.

I stayed at The Columns on business in November of 2014. The photos looked lovely and the hotel looked charming. The rate was reasonable, and its close proximity to the St. Charles streetcar line convinced me to book a room for 4 nights. The first floor of the hotel fits the pictures - southern "faded charm." The staff were all...

We came from Colorado to enjoy a long girls weekend in NOLA. A friend on the trip, who once lived there, chose The Columns based on its location and strong reputation. It is a great location with lots of evident history. The Columns clearly was once a fabulous home/hotel. However, would have to say I will take a pass on...

The Hotel is beautiful inside and out. The entry porch is used as a Bar/Restaurant lounge and serves beatifully for this purpose! When we first saw the hotel we could only think of gone times when Mint Juleps were sipped on the porch. This drew us in to the hotel and , yes we sat and ordered our libations of...

This is always a 'must go' place for my husband and I when we visit Nola. The atmosphere is perfect and there is nothing better than enjoying a Bloody Mary on their massive porch. It is relaxing to watch the street car by and imagine life as a local in the Garden District. You do not have to stay at...

We frequent the Columns Hotel, not to stay in the rooms but to drink at the bar and enjoy the food and scenery on St. Charles. They have a great happy hour, 7 days a week, which makes it a hot spot for locals and tourists alike. However - make sure you keep your receipt. Multiple times we have had...

If you like going to sleep before 2:00 am when the bar winds down this place isn't for you. As a decrepit (or grand, depending on your point of view) wood-framed building sound proofing is nil, and and every shriek and shout from the frat-filled bar permeates the second floor, as does the stale beer smell reminiscent of Bourbon Street....

This was an interesting stay. I think it's a bit overpriced on the weekend rate. Don't expect any thick fluffy towels or luxury bed linens. If you cannot climb stairs then you must get the desk clerk to unlock the ancient and very slow elevator each time you need it. There is no assigned parking, you have to take your...
