Friendly staff and great location for Mardi Gras but my friend and I were badly bitten by bed bugs which we could see under the mattresses. The beds were in a terrible state - ladders missing from top bunks and those that had them rocked when used. Took us days of itching misery to get over our stay.

I'll start off by saying that I think this hostel offers the cheapest rates in the city during peak periods. We stayed here over a weekend from Friday to Monday and we were not able to find many other options in the same price range. We originally booked a private twin room but the condition of the bed was so...

Looks lovely from outside. Our dorm was 3 small rooms opened out with two bunks in each section. There was no more than 2ft between my bunk and the next and nowhere to put suitcases. Shower not very clean thank goodness for flip flops. It was leading up to Haloween so girls in room coming in at different times around...

I got lucky following my gut on a hotel in San Francisco. My son said no way lightning would strike twice. He was wrong. Marquette House offered my a great deal, in a great place. I got a private room for up to 4 people for about $70/ night during spring break, which is all but impossible to do in...

Enough said. The staff and permanent residents were very casual about it. It seems that all dorms have them. They use gloves to change the bedding after a transit leaves. Also saw a couple palmetto bugs.

Have stayed at a lot of hostels all over the place, both cheaper and more expensive then this one - but Marquette House is the worst by far. The crumbling, unmaintained facade is kind of charming and works with the area it's in but behind the front door, everything else is crumbling away aswell. Nothing looks like it has been...

I checked into this Hostel on Saturday morning and I'm meant to be staying there tonight, I've opted to leave early as it was just grotesque squalor in the room I'd been put in. My impression is that is more of a homeless unit than a hostel. I didn't like the vibe and would discourage young girls from staying here...

Stayed here with a friend for Halloween and the week after 2014. Basic accomodation and mainly aimed at / used by long term residents, but on a whole everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. It was an easy distance to the French quarter (walking distance there maybe not on it's way back) and although the accomodation is very basic you...

I would stay somewhere else if you can. I didn't think it was terrible like some of the other reviews but it was bad enough that I moved to a different hostel after one night. Pros: great location, close walk to the Garden District and a block away from a main road with restaurants and the cable car that goes...

We hoped to find a cheap hostel in New Orleans. Here we have a hostel which is neither cheap nor satisfying. It's very unclean. We already saw 2 roaches. Might explain why not even half the beds are occupied. Only plus: location is quite convenient.

Thank Ben J
