If you like something unique where history is everywhere this place is for you. Fantastic atmosphere, beautiful neighborhood and tasty breakfast for no extra cost. Pretty close to French Quoter (about 25 minutes walk).

Had a great breakfast here then did the tour of the house. Learned a lot about Degas and his family. I have to say the breakfast was EXCELLENT as was the tour. Highly recommend it if you have a morning to kill.

If you are looking to stay in a place that plays with time and the Art at the same time, here you will find what you are looking for. This is not my first trip to NOLA. It is an old city and its hotels play with the time. I had lived it before but at Degas House there is a plus: you will know the house where Edgar Degas, the only French impressionist painter who visited the United States, lived at and the history of his maternal family and the history of this wonderful house. You will feel the smell, taste and sound of this place. The peace here is incredible, just a few minutes from the city center, the light, peace and atmosphere of this place will captivate you forever and you will want to return again and again, because this place carries the magic of this city in itself.

We just returned from my daughter’s wedding weekend. Even after a six month delay due to Covid, and a rainy wedding day, the crew at the Degas House made it a wonderful event. Ms. Kathy, Ms. Sharon, and the rest of the staff took care of every detail and made sure everyone was happy. I had the opportunity to meet Mr. David, the owner. Just as everyone else, he was friendly and welcoming. I could sit on that front porch everyday. It’s an absolutely beautiful place, but the people really make it what it is. My husband and I stayed on the 3rd floor in one of the garret rooms. No windows and no noise made for EXCELLENT sleeping! The stairs weren’t bad at all (and I’m no youngster). Definitely must check it out while in town!

My husband and I were recently married here and that included a two night stay. It was lovely! Very peaceful and quiet with a delicious fresh made breakfast both mornings. We felt very much at home, as everyone was very attentive to our needs. This area of Esplanade is covered with beautifully large oak trees that create a hammock-like effect. Your photos will be absolutely gorgeous! Highly recommend if you are looking for a classic historical New Orleans welcome!! To us this was a home away from home, as it is only 30 minutes from our house. Very special thank you to Kathy and Sharon for treating me and my husband like family! We already can’t wait to come back and visit soon!!
