The check-in process was smooth, they do require a physical card to be on file. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Hotel location is AMAZING right outside all the action only a 5 minute walk from Bourbon. We did have a problem getting towels and toilet paper to the room, we had to call upwards of 3 times per request during our 4 day/3 night stay. I did feel especially safe as keycards are needed to enter after a certain time as well as a card is needed to access the elevators. I also suggest against renting a car, there are streetcars with numerous stops as well as most attractions are a walking distance. Valet is offered.

The property is always a great place to stay. It is in the heart of everything. Park the car and walk to eat, sightsee, bar hop, shop, and so much more. The rooms are up to good standards and I would highly recommend this property for business or pleasure.

This rating should really be 2.5 stars. What a difference 3 years and COVID make! I've stayed at this particular Doubletree pre-covid and was VERY pleased. Myself and my guests really enjoyed our accommodations, the attentiveness of the staff and the cleanliness of our room. However, this go round we were met with very disappointing accommodations, combined with a lackluster staff, and overall frustrating experience.

When we checked in, we immediately noticed the stained chairs and benches that also had crumbs and hairs all over them. The headboards which had children's marker drawings (both beds). And the cabinets there were literally falling off the hinges. I've attached pictures here. When we went to the front desk, Hailey, I'm assuming the manager on duty, displayed a lack of care of our situation and informed us the hotel was completely sold out and we couldn't be moved. We had already assumed that, but perhaps the housekeeping staff had a steam cleaner & vacuum for the benches and chairs, some type of cleaner for the headboards, and someone could fix the falling cabinets.  When asked, Hailey let us know, she could send someone to vacuum and that was about it.

Given that we were visiting during a large festival, if anyone had cleaned the room prior to our arrival, all of these things should have been noticed, which we suspect they were, because housekeeping when they came showed us that all the drawers were also off the tracks and were lopsided.

Since COVID, I can only suspect due to lack of staffing this property has not been properly maintained. My other guest who was in the adjoining room, did not have these issues in his room. So care to these issues when they are discovered is important to keeping guests confidence in receiving the quality product they pay for on arrival.  However, I did notice several of the lobby furnishings had a thick layer of dust as well, so I can only assume that only some areas are getting cleaned.

In speaking to another staff person, my guest who was in the room with me, was told their hands were tied because we booked our stay through a 3rd party service (Bedsonline). As a travel agent, this was also disappointing to hear as my guest left thinking I was to blame for us not even being offered a complimentary breakfast for our inconvenience, because the hotel's "hands were tied".

This is my second disappointing stay in a Hilton brand over the past 6 months and it is seeming like a trend that is happening that the properties are not being maintained and staff are feeling lack of ownership to rectify the problem.

Unfortunately for me, I have to remove this particular property off my recommended list until the issues are fixed.

Maybe one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Checked into the Doubletree about a week ago for a wedding in New Orleans and upon arrival I could immediately tell that this hotel didn’t care too much about anything. The front entrance to the hotel was disgusting and rundown and full of people smoking weed right at the front door, as if it was legal in Louisiana. When we went to the desk to check in to our room, the person at the desk charged us over $400 in incidental fees when it was supposed to be $75 a night and we were only there for two nights. That definitely didn’t start the trip off on a good note as we were down about $300 for no necessary reason. On top of that, while speaking to the manager about it, she claimed that she had no idea who was working at the front desk at the time and how that could’ve happened. She told us that obviously it was a mistake and that she would be able to release the funds whenever we checked out, but while giving us that explanation, can you believe that she charged another $75 right then and there, in our face, as we’re trying to handle the issue for the $400 that was taken already. We immediately got the notification from our banking app as we were standing in front of her, and showed her “like hey, you just charged us again!?! What is going on??? She goes on to apologize and then says that that money will be released immediately… what was the point?? Why do you keep taking money out of our account more than what the hotel is asking for??? It all seemed sketchy. On top of that we booked the Jr. suite which had a kitchenette and living room and oh my God it was the worst hotel room I have ever seen. We probably could’ve booked a room at the motel six that was cleaner and more kept up. The furniture was run down and beaten up, the bed, skirts, living room, chair, living room, sofa, and main window curtains had stains and discoloration all over. Water sprinklers on the wall were hanging on by a thread. The metal coverings on them were falling off. The carpets were nasty and had a lingering odor. The towels in the bathroom were paper thin and some were very stained also. The room seemed like it hadn’t gotten any TLC since the early 2000s. It was so bad. The room also was advertised as having a pool view, but when you look out the window, there is a wall about 4 feet high, right in front of your window, and no pool view. We had the room booked for two nights, we checked in on the first night at midnight, so we kinda just had to roll with the punches because it was already so late and we have been traveling all day, but decided we would not be staying there both nights because the room was that filthy. We left the hotel and checked into the Westin across the street and the difference between the hotels were night and day. All in all the hotels in a great location, but if you have standards, and you don’t want to stay in a dirty room with hotel staff that overcharged you for incidentals, then don’t stay here!!!

I stayed at this hotel the last week of July checking out on 8/1. After returning home and a week later I discovered that my $300 Dunhill sunglasses was not in the side pocket of the luggage I used. I called the hotel and asked for housekeeping. I gave my information to the housekeeper that answered the phone who told me they would call me back. I never received a call. After some time, I called again and asked for housekeeping and the operator inquired as to what it was pertaining to. I explained the situation to the operator who took my information and was told she would call me back. She did not. After several attempts to call with no answer from the front desk. I've come to the conclusion that my sunglasses were indeed found and that an employee had taken them once they saw how expensive looking they were. I am really disappointed that they did not have the common courtesy to call me back and report their findings. If the glasses were not found, they could have at least call me back.

This was the worst hotel stay I've ever experienced. With the exception of the female who was manning the concierge desk, every staff member seemed completely unengaged. They were all just going through the motions. We had requested no feathers due to an allergy, yet our room had feathered pillows. Also, the room smelled terrible - like a sewer issue. The smell was so bad that we had to move rooms the next day. During my wife's first shower, the hot water ran out while she was covered in soap. This was communicated to the staff. They didn't even respond. No acknowledgement, no response. UNACCEPTABLE! We had no hot water for the remainder of our three-night stay. My advice - RUN! DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is horribly managed. DoubleTree senior level management needs to intervene immediately.

The difficult part for this hotel is that it is exceptionally noisy considering its location, which is actually a bit of an advantage because of the convenience. The rooms are the tiniest I’ve ever seen in any major hotel brand. The closet door and the bathroom door bang into each other when either one is opened. The bathrooms are extremely tiny with almost no counter space. The breakfast downstairs was OK but for us platinum members, usually we get free breakfast for two people. This was only $15 a day. This does not cover breakfast for two people for one day. The concierge was helpful as for the front desk personnel. It’s just the facility itself was very disappointing.

There are many choices in New Orleans, but this hotel was located near everything, but far enough from noisy crowds. Walking and public transportation was nearby and we chose to take an UBer $(35-40) from the airport. This saved us $45 parking fee and frustrating driving. The hotel room was perfect, As Diamond members they upgraded us to a high, riverfront room which was roomy and very clean, Comfy beds and very quiet, although located on busy streets right across the st from Harrah's. I was just missing a chair, which would have fit in the corner nicely. The hot breakfast was limited and served in a styrofoam container but you could dine there. No free coffee was available but there was an onsite coffee shop and bar. Coffee machines, microwaves and coolers were available in rooms, Overall Gabrielle made sure that we had everything we needed to keep us comfortable! Thank you

We checked in around noon of this past Tues., Sept. 13th. This facility is in a great location and has kept honest to the Doubletree standards of the quality we are accustomed. However, the drop in rating was due to one person at check-in. While we had great customer service with the valet parking and other areas, this person had some issues with us when we reported that our room key would not function with access to the elevator or our room door. After two attempts to have the room key replaced the front desk lady popped off saying "That's on you!" apparently indicating we weren't using the key correctly. I guess management would not have appreciated us spending the night on the couches in the lounge! Finally a very nice maintenance man came to our rescue and confirmed the key generated by the lady with the bad attitude was the problem and after 30-45 minutes we were finally able to get up the elevator and into our room with a third key. No apology offered.
Having been in the service industry for many years myself, I would hope that some education for this person would be undertaken. We will stay here again because of the great location but hopefully this issue will be improved by management.

I was first greeted by a very kind man Mr. Germaine who did valet and assured me the hotel was an amazing one. He was patient and never pushy. He allowed us to take our time and catered to us in every way. He always had a smile and fully greeted us. We always had someone to say hello to us and give my children a hug. Mr. Allen who was so caring and loving asked us several times if we were doing good and if there was anything we needed. He brought us extra towels, a fan, some extra bedding and had a smile on his face every time. He was my son’s favorite person. Mr. Jake was unbelievably kind and always talked to my son like one of the boys. Ms. Evelyn also was very accommodating and kept us company and made some very tasty drinks. We thoroughly enjoyed this trip and all the people I named and also the very sweet lady that worked at the front desk. My children got lots of attention and hugs with no feeling of being a burden. Valet may cost a little more than desired but I could get my vehicle at any point and it was safe and readily available. I can say that everything was amazing! Keep up the good work and I hope these workers the best of luck with their lives.

I don’t know. I was taking taxis and Ubers during my stay. They do have valet parking and I seem to remember motorcycles parked across from the entrance to the hotel. I would call and ask the hotel.
