The rooms are spacious, updated and clean. The proprietors are wonderful. They are warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. If we ever have the opportunity to go back to New Orleans we will definitely stay here. Close to everything but far enough away to relax.

This B&B is wonderful in every way. The owners, Ruby and Peter Verhoeven, made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Our room was large, with a big, comfortable king-size bed, and the bathroom was very modern, and appeared to have been recently renovated. The room had lots of electrical outlets, and the wifi was fast, with an easy...

Had a wonderful stay at The Rose Manor. My flight was delayed by 7 hours, and I arrived at midnight, but Peter and Ruby stayed up to greet me and show me around. Great conversation over breakfast with the other guests from all over the USA and Europe. Clean room, comfortable bed. Good wifi connection. Peter even drove me to...

We spent three nights at the Rose Manor and had a wonderful stay! The area is very safe to walk around in the evening, great restaurants within walking distance and just a short drive to the French Quarter. Ruby and Pete are charming hosts that are genuinely friendly and helpful. They made you feel very welcome to their home and...

This place is the best, best B&B and best owners. It is out of the main stream of New Orleans near Lake Pontchartain. The area is safe and you can walk to several restaurants in the area. It is an easy 15-20 minute commute to the down town area. The B&B is charming. The owners, Pete and Ruby go far...

Unfortunately, I didn't get to stay at this B&B. I was anxiously awaiting my two-day stay at Rose Manor. I read the reviews and it sounded like a perfect fit! I was surprised when I received a cancellation email the evening I had reserved my room! When I called to see why my reservation had been cancelled, I was told...

Ruby and Peter are gracious hosts/owners of this antique filled B and B. The inn is outside downtown NOLA, away from the noise and hustle, so if you want the action this is not the place for you. There is good on property parking provided along with full breakfasts and genial conversation and music in the evenings. There are several...

As we prepare to return home after a six night stay in the wonderful Rose Manor, it feels like we are leaving friends! Paul and Ruby made us feel so welcome, and introduced us to all their other guests as if we were all family friends. A nice breakfast was served each morning while we chatted with other guests. Our...

Very nice B&B, super clean, good breakfasts. Very friendly and helpful innkeepers. The one downside is that you almost have to have a car to get down to the French Quarter, and parking can be a problem (and it's fairly expensive) ... Uber might be a good alternative. (We knew this going in, and it worked out fine). Definitely would...

Staying in Lakeview

Neighbourhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
