Me and a buddy came down for Mardi Gras Feb 2017. We stayed 2/3 nights which was far too many but due to the cost of other Hotels we tried to make the best of it. I'll run down the key issues. #1 We had mice and mouse droppings in our towels (Found on day 2 that's why we left...

We stayed in the secondary house across the street from the main BnB. First floor king room was spacious and convenient. We used street parking. The building obviously soaks up every bit of love and attention it receives as it is very historic and must be continually maintained. The office staff was great, and the main house breakfast area is...

Ms. Tanya made this place! This is a 25 room hotel with two buildings. It is a renovated mansion on a nice more "suburban" street in the French Quarter, well away from the hectic Bourbon Street. However, it is not far away. It is a straight shot to the NOLA jazz scene on Frenchman Street. My friends and I were...

This place is not for the weak or germaholics, but it's close to frenchman street and bourbon street - couple of blocks actually. Heard Port of Call - right down street too - is incredible - was a line to get in. Anyways.....it's an authentic old mansion that's been turned into B&B. It's creaky and not Hyatt clean - it's...

The room was ok. Not overly clean, but remember the house is very old and not given much TLC. We paid $20 a day for off street parking, which at the time of our booking there was no notice of cost. Well, it did not help the front in of our car was damaged in the parking lot. Reported to...

Perfect place to stay while exploring the wonders of the French Quarter. I absolutely love the location of the mansion. It is close enough to walk to the heart of the Quarter yet far enough to have a peaceful nights sleep. I personally have always preferred the upscale, modern, luxury chain hotels, but this beautiful mansion has changed my opinion...

Fantastic & cozy find at my favorite end of the quarter. Pat, the mgr, was AMAZING at accommodating us when our reservations fell through. Her compassion & customer service made me a lifetime patron!!

We stayed here during a fairly quiet weekend in mid December. Our room was comfortable. Excellent value. Staff is friendly, location is perfect, free parking is an amazing lagniappe. I read reviews that indicate this place is worn or not up to standards. I cant help but assume those reviewers have never stayed in a BnB, or been to NOLA...

First off, If you are looking for a 5 star sterile hotel experience, keep moving. However, if you want to experience New Orleans through it's history, vibrant culture and unmatched southern hospitality look no further. My husband and I stayed a week here for our honeymoon and we absolutely loved it. Our room was comfortable and the furnishings perfectly matched...

....and we wouldn't want it to be! My girlfriend and I got tickets to Voodoofest and I was looking online for places to stay. Rathbone Mansions came up on the search but it said there was only one room left. I looked at several other places but this place kept popping up so I decided to look into it. The...

Staying in Treme

Neighbourhood Profile
That sound? That flavor? That certain je ne sais quoi that lets you known you’re in “Nawlins” and nowhere else? It’s all good and in broad abundance on the streets of Tremé, where so much of what’s considered to be the very best of New Orleans culture and tradition is, put simply, just how people go about their daily lives in this historic part of town. As one of America’s oldest African-American neighborhoods and among the nation’s first established residential areas for free people of color, Tremé’s significant heritage and contribution cannot be understated. This is especially the case when considering some of Tremé’s most famous residents, most notably jazz great Louis Armstrong. For full flavored food, funky and jazzed up music, and vibrant street life presented with homegrown pride, you can’t beat a visit to Tremé.
