I decided in July to celebrate my birthday in New Orleans but that was a bad idea. I booked my room at Hotel Le Marais and when I booked it, I was charged 1160. But when I checked in I was charged 1349. I also booked valet parking which I paid 161 out of pocket not knowing the hotel would charge for valet parking so on July 1. I arrived and checked in. I went up to my room and looked at my phone. I noticed my card account had sent me an update. I open it and noticed I was charged more than what was expected. I went down to the front desk and asked why was I overcharged. He began to tell me oh we charged for valet parking that’s what the 209 was for and I explained to him, I had already paid for that prior to me coming and he said ok and I asked why I was I charged 1349 instead of 1160 like I was told he go on to tell me that they charge 50 a night for staying and if I don’t damage the room I’ll get it back. I’m pissed because it’s August 11 and I still haven’t received any of my money back. I have called and I was told to fax proof which I did on the 15th of July still no response. I don’t recommend this hotel to any of my friends or family.😡🤯🤬

Pros - great location, nice hotel Cons - there is construction in front of the hotel. You have to park a block away (this was not told to us) and bring your luggage up Bourbon Street and go down a narrow alley to get to the hotel. The narrow alley always had tons of people waiting to go to a restaurant so it was hard to get through.

This was our first time in New Orleans and we were super disappointed with this hotel. We love boutique type hotels so we thought it would be great, we were wrong. First, it's very hard to bring luggage down the little alley (since there is construction and you can't drive in the front). That is not their fault, but was definitely annoying. The one plus was the location, it's a great location in the middle of a lot. Seems like there is one person working besides housekeeping. Two people that take shifts at the front desk and that is all. The room was fine, not that clean but okay. We were facing the courtyard which we thought would be nice but people were talking there very loudly at 3am, we were up for awhile and called down to get some sleep. Overall, we would steer clear of this hotel.

Out first visit was only two short days and nights in New Orleans and so where we stayed was very important. This hotel was so fantastic that we booked a family reunion two years later and everyone agreed, it was one of the best boutique hotel stays all of us have enjoyed! The pool, the rooms, the bar, the kind staff, the location, you will thoroughly enjoy your stay.

This is a great choice if you want to be within walking distance of almost anywhere in the French Quarter. There are several really great restaurants very close by as well. The hotel is clean, modern and rooms are comfortable.
