I have stayed at W hotels in past and customer service was a little lacking at this one. Checked in Wednesday 11/23 for Holiday week-end. Paid for the entire stay over a month in advance. Arrived and assigned room in 3rd floor. There were 3 of travelling long day so wanted hot shower. No Hot water in this room. Told...

This is just a great place to stay. Its right in the quarter, has a boutique/authentic N'Orleans feel to it...it even has a fantastic courtyard (with a small pool) to hang in. Also, great rooms and service. I stay here for JazzFest as well as business trips. If coming for JazzFest, reserve well in advance.

This is my 5th time staying at this property. And it continues to be the magical and wonderful place each time. This year, we upgraded to the nicer rooms that have the balcony overlooking the gorgeous courtyard. Our doors were open and we enjoyed our coffee to the sounds of music coming from the street. The service is wonderful, the...

Those of you who follow our reviews know that we have visited this property many times over the years and our overall impression has always been very good. This trip was just a bit more than that. The hotel remains one of the best locations in New Orleans strategical located in the quarter near dining and nightlife while being off...

Very nice room and excellent, friendly staff. All our requests were accomodated with a smile. Superb restaurant associated with the Hotel. Right in the middle of the French Quarter so great walking, music and food all around.

2 blocks walk from major convention hotels Marriott and Sheraton and so much nicer a stay than staying at one of those very large busy hotels The W is a much more intimate and quiet place to stay and my room had a nice balcony at a price that was lower or the same than the Marriott or Sheraton. Nice...

Perfectly located in the French Quarter. On the downside - as it's so central it can be a little noisy. Rooms are also small and the staff (although very friendly) need further training. It's not a five star hotel. Breakfast was really good. All in all - I would go back for the location (not the service).

We arrived at Hotel W a day late as we had missed our connection due to customs. So upon arrival we explained our predicament to which the attitude riddled manager said we should have rang to inform them and so they had rented out our room even though we had prepaid for the entire week. Eventually after already driving for...

My husband and I consciously made a decision to switch from the Ritz Carlton and try the W. They are priced pretty much the same, the W was $20 a night less. Sad to say we were very disappointed. Let me preface this by saying the staff were very friendly and helpful so this is no reflection on them. Our...

This hotel has a strange combination of features, and I don't know what to say. It is priced over $300/night, and it is located in a very nice place, close to the sounds of life but on a quiet street. On the other hand there is almost no service, no signage, and when arrived I felt pretty much lost. Nobody...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
