We had 5 nights at this lovely boutique hotel which is an old bank building - the room was very comfortable and clean. All the staff were very friendly and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble - check out was so quick - easiest we've every had. Great location and only 10 minutes walk to French Quarter, with...

A good hotel in a beautiful building with great character as it was an old bank, Would have liked to have been told that hotel bar and restaurant was not available during my stay. Single glazed windows so some road noise but not excessive. Very helpful and courteous staff and clean and spacious room.A reasonable location which allowed for a...

Large room, nice historical hotel. It was only 10-15 minute walk to the middle of the French Quarter, 5-10 minute walk to the river and casino. Staff was great!! It was a shame the hotel restaurant wasn't open.

New Orleans has a bank called the Whitney and this hotel property used to be one of the Whitney's most gorgeous bank buildings. Part of the building remains a bank branch but the rest uses that intricate architecture as backdrop for a lovely boutique hotel. There's even a bank vault on the first floor lobby.

Great location, and an excellent value for the price. A little disappointed that the restaurant was not operating. Parking was expensive, but the retrieval was prompt and courteous. TV reception was very poor. Not sure of the cause, but since a few channels were clear, it was not caused by the TV.

Rooms need some updating as far as furnishings and ammenities. No safes in rooms. The hotel staff was great and very polite. Rooms were cleaned daily which was nice even when we slept in late one morning. It was fairly quiet at night which was nice.

Hotel and lobby are interesting and well maintained. However I did think the rooms and furniture were a little tired. Also the hotel is situated on a 6 lane road and only has single glazing which makes the room noisy. Staff were helpful and friendly.

The bar closed at 10pm which was poor Only 3 days into our 8 day trip we were told the bar and Resturant were closed leaving us with no facilities in the hotel We should have been told that when we were booking and would not have booked it as it's nice to eat and drink in the hotel after...

Thank you for your candid feedback. I'm sorry to hear that we did not exceed your expectations. The restaurant was a third party operation, not owned or managed by the Hotel and the decision to close the venue could not be controlled by the Hotel. To offset any inconvenience, the Hotel offered, free of charge, a grab and go continental...

The hotel was a bank before, so this make it a very nice and interesting hotel to stay. Is located at downtown so is close to all the nice places that you can visit in New Orleands. The service is very good and the rooms are comfortable and clean. I highly recommended this hotel for families.

Wasn't at all impressed with the staff at this hotel, not at all helpful. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The only bar and restaurant facilities were separate from the hotel in the respect you couldn't charge anything to the room.

Thank you for your feedback. Please accept my apologies for not exceeding your expectations regarding charging capabilities at the independently owned restaurant which operates in the building. We're glad to hear you found the rooms clean and comfortable, thank you for mentioning it. We hope we get a chance to serve you again soon. Sincerely, Casey A. Callais General Manager

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
