Room was great and roomy. Staff was helpful. Highly recommend. It was so neat to tour the historic old building. The Bellman went above and beyond to help us with anything we needed. The staff at the front desk answered any questions we had. The Trolley comes within about a block and you can travel all around the city on...

I stayed at New Orleans to attend conference. Although I visited America first time, kindly staff made me happy. Check-in and out, cleanliness of room, and so on, all corresponding are gracious so I was thankful for all staffs of this hotel. Therefore, I wanted to stay again if I go to New Orleans.

I stayed at The Whitney hotel for several days. Rooms are cozy and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is located several minutes walk from French Quarters, and 15 minutes walk from Convention Center.

It was fine, on a very busy street however. Staff very nice and while the room was quite large it was fairly 'tired' in decor. Very clean. Would stay here again. Close to Magazine St but on the shady end.

We enjoyed our visit in this hotel very much. We were given a nice family suit with two rooms. We were 2 adults + 2 children. Nicely decorated large rooms with comfortable beds. Hotel stuff were very kind. Nearby there are nice places to have breakfast. Accross the street there`s a parking lot with reasonable charge.

Niquia was GREAT. She was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable of the city. She made our stay a pleasure. Always helpful and there to assist. She always had a smile on her face even when dealing with a rude guest who was before me. Her professionalism was outstanding. I tip my hat to her. Promote her!

We booked two rooms in this hotel for two couples visiting New Orleans for the first time. We wanted something with character and close to the French Quarter, but not right in the crush and noise. Pro: the location was good - only a 5 min walk to Canal St and the Quarter. The place is an old bank with...

Thank you for your feedback, Ted519. I'm sorry to hear that you found the hotel noisy with street traffic. Also, the ice machine on the third floor is getting replaced, we're sorry if this caused you any inconvenience. All the other floors have an ice machine and we'd be happy to deliver ice to your room upon your requests. Our...

We stayed overnight to attend the St Patrick's parade. Valet parking reasonably priced. Excellent Staff. Very clean. No top sheet between duvet and fitted sheet-disappointing. Otherwise everything was excellent!

Gracious and accommodating staff; very walkable location, close to everything but far enough away not to be in the middle of craziness. Boutique style hotel with personal service. Restaurants and shopping and streetcars nearby. Reasonable prices. Historic, beautiful building. There must be a police or fire station close by as I heard a lot of sirens through the night.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
