Restaurant was not avail for dinner/drinks and not told before. Parking was to be included and was going to be charged until I complained. Not as close to attractions as the site made it seem and wanted to walk but had to walk much farther than expected. Ate breakfast there it was not worth the price at all. Not any...

You can walk anywhere from this location or if you don't want to walk jump on a streetcar that you can grab right out side the hotel. It's an old bank that has been turned into a hotel, very cool! And thick walls. We never heard our neighbors during our stay. The staff was outstanding Earl took great care of...

Beautiful hotel, staff friendly and helpful. Centrally located. Could use fridge and microwave. Moderately priced. Rooms clean and nicely decorated. Beds comfortable. Cannot wait to come back. Dinner in the restaurant was fabulous as well as the drinks. The old bank motif as well as the history of the building is represented through out the building. Did have trouble with...

The Whitney is an old hotel, with a very limited staff. We stayed there for 7 nights, when arriving there were no bellhops to be found. Turns out they only have one bellhop on duty at a time. Even when he was on duty, several times he was on his cell phone, one time he was on the guest computer...

3 night stay at this hotel on our road trip from Memphis. This hotel is a converted bank which highlighted by the fact that one of the meeting rooms is an old bank vault with the safe door on display but still attached to the room. This opposite check in. The rooms are well appointed with coffee makers, iron and...

Great hotel and service. I would definitely stay here again when I visit NOLA! The beds were comfortable and a great location. Walking distance to all sites. Streetcars, and buses. Loved New Orleans! The front desk clerks were very helpful in providing information about buses and local restaurants.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
