Our go to hotel on frequent trips to New Orleans. Steps from the St. Charles streetcar, easy walk to WWII Museum, Smoothie King/Ceaser’s Dome and many bars, restaurants. This hotel is a clean, well run facility with dedicated and helpful staff. Jamie at the front desk greets guests with a smile and is super helpful with information about NOLA. Management staff are visible to insure a smooth operation. Breakfast and evening meal:Fri is are included and better than average food. Highly recommended!

I normally don't like chain hotels. The Drury was an exception. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. The hotel is in a great location--a few blocks away from the noise of the French Quarter and a few blocks to the WWII Museum and Confederate Museum. My room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The hotel is well maintained. The room price also includes an evening buffet with an alcoholic beverage and a breakfast buffet that includes fresh pancakes as well. I was pleasantly surprised when I went to use the outdoor pool and found that it was warm enough for swimming. This is my first stay at a Drury hotel, and I'll be sure to stay at a Drury in the future.

We spent a week at Drury over the holidays. The best part is the size of the rooms - very spacious and comfortable for a family for that length of time. It is also well located in an area that has plenty of options for food and entertainment in the immediate vicinity and the French Quarter is also walkable (we are walkers but if you are not, it is a short cab ride away). The heated pool and hot tub are large and clean and popular. The breakfast and evening kickback was handy though not the highest quality. I would request the management to use more actual glasses and cups rather than disposable. Also, as far as drinks, the wines (both red and white) are way too fruity. As far as the beer, I recommend the Holy Roller if it is fresh and in stock (only true on one evening). Also, I never once found the cut fruit bowl filled in the course of six breakfasts. Clearly there is a demand for it but it does not get replenished. The manager was friendly. There was an issue with the key card not working in one of the elevators but apparently they haven't been able to fix it. Also, when I tried doing laundry water came spewing out and I made several trips to the front desk getting quarters etc. This derailed our plans for the day to a degree. In the end, it was still a good stay and hopefully management will take note of the suggestions for improvement.

This drury hotel is was one of my least favorite based on my one and only stay. I wouldn't stay here again with so many other options in close proximity.

Cons:
Pooled Dog urine in elevators!

DOGS (Not service) in food areas. No staff around to correct for the most pary.

Hallway carpets on room floor never vacuumed entire 3 day stay. Food wrappers, crushed crackers, party glitter etc. If it fell on floor it stayed there!

Self parking: poor system. Everytime you returned to the hotel you had to go inside and ask front clerk to open parking gate. Day or night. Rain or shine. No card key entry for paying guests??? Also security concern here.

Room A/C:
It is motion controlled so the ac will turn off in the middle of the night. So it will get stuffy and hot and require to get up to lower.

Security: not as secure as to believe. On first day we returned to hotel and spouse went in to ask to open garage. Spouse didn't go in on check-in. Garage was lifted without asking for any I.D., room card or name.
Eventhough you need card key to enter building from garage parking levels anyone could wait long enough to pass through an open door by exiting guest or finding a door that was propped open to interior of hotel by other guest as often was noted. Our room was near back of hotel and garage and this was our primary entry and exit daily. So it was a concern. Not as secure as front door area. Maybe it is monitored but no visible monitoring noted by me.

Pros:
Free food and alcoholic drinks. You get what u pay for.

Food area was generally clean.

Room appeared clean but dark, small and slightly dated. Average. Nothing special. Good sound proofing.

No housekeeping requested during my stay but can be requested. Elevators fast.

Response from Drury Hotels, Owner at Drury Plaza Hotel New Orleans
Responded Sep 21, 2020
Thank you for making us aware of the pet urine upon your checkout, the desk clerk did notify the house-person of its presence so it was promptly cleaned. I am sorry, but I do not recall seeing any pets in the dining area when I was serving breakfast that morning. Please accept my apologies for the challenges of parking. As you experienced, we do have an attendant for the busy parking hours to allow guests into the garage as we are not currently offering valet parking due to COVID concerns. This attendant is to provide an additional layer of security to prevent entry of non-guests, however as you also experienced, when an attendant is not present, the desk clerk opens the gate. Sorry if this was a concern, but please know we do utilize cameras to see your dash ticket and rely on room keys to enter at the elevators. Thank you for your stay, Patrick D. General Manager

We love the Drury chain and try to stay there as often as we can, sometimes planning trips on cities depending on if they have a Drury. I so wish we had stayed elsewhere though in New Orleans. The building is beautiful and in a good location, but, it is not clean, at all. We checked in after a long day of traveling and an emotionally draining visit to the Whitney Plantation. When we checked in we noticed there was a lot of dirt and nature debris in our room, between the two beds. We didn't call down because we were very tired and needed some rest and we figured it'd be cleaned tomorrow. Housekeeping now is by appointment, which was not stated in the reservation or told to us at check in, so the room wasn't cleaned. We called down and asked why and we were rather rudely told we needed to request housekeeping. After 3 of us walking around the room for 2 days the dirt was now all over and housekeeping was gone for the day. We made an appointment for the next day, but at 4:30 they still hadn't come. We called down again and it was clear that no one had put us on the list. We had made a point of not being in the room all day and we were tired from walking all over. Someone did come up and vacuum, and remade the beds while we were at dinner. The next day even though our privacy sign was up someone from housekeeping woke us all up at 8:30 to do our room. After being out all night an 8:30 wake up for services that should have been done days ago was not fun. The main floor of the hotel was very clean, but the rest of the floors were not. There were old spills all over and someone had spilled an entire container of tiny ponytail holder all over, and they were not cleaned for 3 days, and after we brought it up. This is a time when hotels are supposed to be taking cleanliness seriously and the Drury is clearly not. They need to really step up their cleaning for regular times, but this is covid times, and there should not be such issues. We were comped 1 days stay for the dirty room, and housekeeping issues, but I would 100% have rather paid full price and felt like we were in a clean room and hotel. Rooftop pool was fun and they were on top of how many people were allowed in. Most of the staff was very friendly, but skip the food at the bar in the lobby, it was not great our loaded tots were freezer burned and the chips tasted stale, bar service was so slow we waited about 20 minutes before we had to ask if we could order food. Get delivery instead.

This hotel is in the Central Business District. About 4 blocks to Quarter and maybe a bit longer walk to Garden District so central but not a lot around hotel. The employees we encountered were all extremely polite. Doesn't happen much anymore. The free breakfast and happy hour are great. Didn't eat the evening food (mostly kid food like hot dogs and chicken tenders and stuff) because I was in New Orleans and wanted to eat Cajun/Creole food but I can see how a big family could save money on food staying here. Also three free alcoholic beverages and that's always nice! It's pet friendly so that's great! Brought our dog and we had a two room suite so plenty of room for all of us! The rooms were actually quite spacious so a plus! $40 a night pet fee seems costly. Never paid that much before but didn't have a choice so, oh well. Everything was great except one thing and this always bugs me and happens a lot in hotels and not sure why. Housekeeping was great, however we had less than one roll of toilet paper and they should have added another one for us. Of course we ran out because that happens so I called front desk for a roll and the person said they would put a "work order" in for it. What is that? Just needed a roll! Well, no one ever brought our TP so I went down to desk and told them what happened. I said I'd like a few rolls please. Got an apology and one roll. Ugh. I knew same thing would probably happen again so while out bought some so we didnt have to mess with it. Sounds trivial and strange but this is not the first or second time this has happened at a hotel and it's not like we are using absorbent amounts. Hotels seem to be really stingy with the TP! It is annoying though. I shouldn't have to ask for it or buy my own. That's my only complaint. Silly as it sounds. Otherwise it's a nice hotel and a great place for families...

A truly outstanding hotel. Breakfast, dinner (and 3 alcoholic drinks per adult) included in rate by way of the hotel’s Kickback program, but even without that this hotel is excellent value for New Orleans. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable, all the staff we encountered (except one, more below) were friendly and helpful, and the pool, common areas and other facilities were spotless. Parking is $25 plus tax, which compares well with other downtown hotels that charge $10-$15 more, and is under cover and secure. The St Charles streetcar line stops right outside. We had to change rooms when our bathroom faucet broke and the “repair” guy was quite rude about it. We told a manager we didn’t like being spoken to like that and he comped one night, which was more than fair. Can’t recommend this hotel highly enough. We loved our three nights here and would happily return.

We have stayed here before so we did not expect to have a problem. Unfortunately we had to move after the first night. Initially we stayed in room 214 which is a small king room. There wasn't much room to walk around the bed, especially the area between the foot of the bed and the dresser. The small window overlooked the service alley. We planned to make the best of things since we intended to be out of the room most of the day but once we awoke, we realized we had to move. The room seems to be located on the main plumbing line with the pipes located just behind the bedroom wall. Beginning early a.m., every toilet flush on the line would bring the sound of water rumbling through the pipes. With many rooms booked at capacity limits, the noise never stopped and we had no chance of going back to sleep. We got up and went to eat breakfast (which was the best it could be due to the covid restrictions) and decided to see about changing rooms.

Thankfully Dee was on the desk, she was very helpful and accommodating. I explained the situation and she worked hard to find us something else. We ended up moving our things right away but left something behind in the first room. My husband returned to the desk and he was able to return to the first room to retrieve the forgotten item with an employee accompanying him.

We settled into the new room and enjoyed the rest of our stay without issues. We used the garage, which is an additional daily charge with in and out privileges, which made things simple and convenient. The pool was open by appointment but we didn't use it. We have used it in the past and it is quite nice. I would stay here again without hesitation. The staff is gracious, kind, and eager to help. They made our stay very pleasant.

It has been a long time since I had stayed in a Drury (several years) but always thought they were good value for money. This one lived up to this with a couple of exceptions.
Room was good nice laid out. Moderately updated. Bed was very comfortable. Desk and huge TV were nice and had their typical chair in the corner for when you just want to sit and not lay in bed.
It had a refrigerator and microwave.

The coffee service was typical chain hotel quality which is blahh at best.

Bathroom was big enough and toiletteries were on the shower wall (not a huge fan of this but makes sense and cuts back on waste so I good with it).

The big pitfall of the room was it was not cleaned well. Especially the bathroom. I know this as I watched certain parts where it was obviously not cleaned and for the entire stay (4 nights) it did not change or get cleaned. Which throws into question the other parts of the room.

Thought the parking was a tad high $25 a night.

The breakfast and evening reception were nice and hot and breakfast was even served on plates and metal utensils and not plastic and strayfoam plates. This was nice to see as too much unnecessary garbage is produced with throwaway eating utensils and plates.

Safety- I felt very safe at the hotel

Location. Easy walking to just about anything you want to see in the Big Easy

Internet- rated as average to better than average as it did boot me off a few times.

Overall, would recommend and would stay again. They just need to do a better job cleaning the rooms.

This is our third time staying at a Drury Hotel (Ireland & San Antonio) and it lived up to the great reputation of the Drury Hotels. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The rooms had the classic European 12' high ceilings. Rooms were clean, bed was comfortable and bathroom was modern. One thing which surprised us was the amount of electric sockets - we counted 16 sockets total on the desk and bedside tables. This did not include the wall sockets. The hotel has a great hot buffet breakfast and the 5:30 to 7 pm kick back dinners were excellent. Meals included 3 free alcoholic drinks each night and unlimited non alcoholic drinks The evening meal options varied (baked or mashed potatoes, BBQ chicken, meatballs, etc.) but each night included hot dogs and nachos which would keep children happy. Popcorn and soda was available all day. Location is perfect. Immediately across the street (catty corner) is the hop on hop off bus stop #8. We put a deposit down at the hotel and paid the rest on the bus (download the New Orleans City Sightseeing app to locate the busses and arrival times). One block away is the streetcar to the WW2 museum and opposite direction to the Commander's Palace. Canal Street and Bourbon Street are walking distance or take the streetcar. We were able to get to all the major attractions either by walking or by streetcar. They have a fitness center, pool and washers/dryers which we checked out but didn't use due to lack of time. We took an Uber to/from the airport so didn't need a car. We would definitely recommend staying here and Drury Hotels in general.
