We stayed at the hotel Modern for 4 nights, and it was a great experience. Excellent location, extremely clean, very friendly and professional staff. Good quality hotel for a reasonable price. The room was beautiful, sharp and modern. Very nice clean bathroom, nice view on Lee Circle. We really loved it, and hopefully we will be able to stay there...

I really loved the hotel. At first it was kind of a culture shock because I had not visited a hotel with such personality and charm. It grew on me quickly. We had a wonderful two-night stay. The room was quiet, had everything we needed and they even brought up an bucket of ice for us. Really enjoyed our stay.

I paid about $100 per night during my conference. Internet was fine for my general web browsing needs. My room was perfectly sized. The shower was good. They had enough toiletries and towels. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast bar had oatmeal, cereal, bagels, pastries, fruit, yogurt, and granola bars. The staff were pleasant. It was in walking distance to...

I had to buy an iron. They only loan out a few. Ran out of wash cloths. Front desk is not always staffed. Up-side is it's central between the Super dome & Convention Ctr & close to the Streetcar line.

Check-In and Check-out were fine. The concierge and valet staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very nice (Cat is an awesome lady!) I booked this hotel because it had amenities that I required. The amenities needed that were advertised: porter/bellhop, valet parking, wifi in rooms, and safe in room. Prior to booking, I called to confirm ALL of those amenities. I had to call 6 times before receiving the email confirmation that I requested. Two days prior to arriving, I again called...

Our room is small and plain with simple furnishings. Lacking an iron. Clean. The gym is very small with one treadmill and one elliptical and just >30 lb weights. It seems to have recently undergone renovations in the lobby, which is nice and trendy in decor. The area is off the beaten path in the warehouse district, which is cool.

Staying in Arts District / Warehouse District

Neighbourhood Profile
Arts District / Warehouse District
Once a thriving industrial zone, today this district is home to a buzzing arts scene with an amazing assortment of galleries, boutiques, and studios having moved in and set up shop throughout the disused warehouses for which the area is so well known. Much of the art you'll come across here is local in scope, ownership and inspiration. However, among the many old brick warehouses are modern structures of steel and glass housing large-scale cultural institutions of national prominence such as the National World War II Museum, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Just as eye catching as what’s on view inside the galleries and museums is the chance to see your ship come in at the Julia Street Cruise Terminal, which serves as a wistful reminder of the city’s historic maritime prominence.
