Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Beautiful hotel, wonderfully friendly staff and fantastic location just a few blocks from the craziness of the Quarter. Front desk made sure our room was far enough from the elevator so that we slept wonderfully in a quiet room. Highly recommended.

Somehow some guy I went to middle school with talked me into being his date for a fraternity formal in New Orleans. The frat picked the hotel we stayed at, which explains why *FIVE* other frats were staying there as well (the hotel was completely full). The dude I went with and

Scrap that! Just seen - no pool! Despite pictures on here. A gym though?

As previously answered, there are not any pools and they have a sundeck, I recall seeing a relatively new hotel a few blocks away that had a very nice pool area. Although, I am generally not much of a pool person and preferred walking around the riverfront parks and riverfront marketplace along the Mississippi River to during the day and the action within the French Quarter to enjoy in the evening. Having stayed at this hotel for work, I would also point out that its location is in the the Financial District which is pretty quiet in the evenings and several blocks away from the French Quarter, as well as about a half mile from the river.
