While the Hyatt Regency New Orleans boasts a convenient location that guests appreciate for its proximity to local attractions and dining, the hotel's value proposition is met with skepticism, as some travelers consider it overpriced given the costly amenities and parking. The atmosphere receives mixed reviews, with a sophisticated lobby contrasted by certain outdated aspects.
Room cleanliness and furnishings have room for improvement, and while the service is commended for professionalism, there are notable lapses in response times and fulfillment of requests.

Everyone was helpful and cheerful. Mixed drinks were amazing at bar and restaurant. Very clean and rooms well-appointed. Large wardrobe for hanging clothes. Good location-short and safe walk to Vieux Carre, market, restaurants.

Traveled on business to a conference here. Great layout for the conference although I wish some sessions could have been scheduled in larger rooms because there was sometimes not nearly enough room for all of the participants. The larger areas are really nice and I enjoyed the touches of water, mints, pens & paper that were readily available. Once you figure out the computerized elevator system it is actually very efficient, much better than most large hotels/venues where you can sometimes wait endlessly to get into an elevator. The room was nice with a nice view of the city & Superdome and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Certainly would stay here again.

Stayed there for a weekend to explore the touristic sights of New Orleans. It‘s easy to drive there from outside and a parking garage is next to the hotel (15$/day), so I did not use the valet parking service.
The hotel itself is really huge, my room was as expected: modern furbished, big flat tv, fridge, absolutely clean. No complaints at all.
Big advantage from my perspective is that the hotel is a bit apart from the touristic sites but still in walking distance.
In the well-equiped fitness room at the roof floor you can enjoy spectacular views while training, especially during sunset.

Once arrived we had to wait a long time to be checked in. The guy who helped with the luggage was very nice. Once arriving to the room the guy who worked there even noticed the room looked a little dirty. We called the main desk and they said it would be a while before someone could come up to clean the room. We asked for fresh towels because one had something black on there. The towels arrived in a plastic bag and even in that bag the towels were even dirtier. AGAIN asked for another set of towels. We stayed that night and woke up the next day for breakfast because the young lady over the phone said it was complimentary. Once going to the floor where the breakfast was it was breakfast we had to pay for. The breakfast was cold. My wife asked for her food to be fresh and they just warmed it in the microwave instead. For the amount of money we paid for the weekend you’d think breakfast would be free right? We stayed for the Saints Vs Falcons game so the location was perfect for walking distance to the superdome. The beds were uncomfortable and pillows were super flat. We usually travel with a fan but tried to see how cool the room would get and never got cool. The overall stay was not the best and would definitely be going back to Hilton and taking an Uber to events instead.

Was here during College Football Playoff. Crazy times in NOLA. But staff and hotel handled it beautifully. Even with hundreds of Clemson fans in hotel for Alumni events, it was well organized and I didn’t feel crowded.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for one night on the 15 February 2020 before joining a cruise ship. We stayed in Room 854. The room had two Queen size beds, a chest of drawers with a table lamp and telephone. There was a desk with a lamp and chair. A cupboard with the TV over it, a fridge and a safe. There was also a coffee machine/tea and coffee was supplied, an armchair, ironing board and iron.
In the entrance to the room was a large mirror and a chair.
The bathroom housed a bath with shower attachment, a large sink with shelving, a small portable mirror, a large mirror, toiletries, hairdryer and white towelling including flannels.
The reception area was large with helpful and friendly staff.
The hotel has a ballroom/bar, Starbucks coffee shop, a jewellery store and a mini mart.
A very large hotel which I believe is situated in the business part of the City.

Maybe it’s because of COVID restrictions, but they should just close everything since the few food options were really expensive and terrible. We stayed for 5 days and not even once we had the room cleaned, towels changed or more toilet paper. Plus the Pool was closed during week days, and it’s poorly managed not even full of water! Covid restrictions shouldn’t be a reason for having such a poor experience.

We checked in on Friday, January 3, 2020 and was offered a an upgrade with a corner view of the Superdome, after dropping off our bags, we headed to bourbon street and was asked by the receptionist working the lobby if we knew about the regency club with our upgrade, she replied with the hours for breakfast and the happy hour. After returning from being out my wife tried to take a shower and then is when we found there was no hot water and very low water pressure, so after calling maintenance we got the story of city water pressure was the problem and to let it run for 5 minutes to get hot water, 15 minutes goes by and only warm water, called again and they wanted to send maintenance man up to the room, we declined since it was after midnight. We called the next morning and while we were trying to get why our regency club upgrade wasn’t working (the hotel wanted another $55 a night per person) we were told that maintenance had fixed the problem and after checking it we still didn’t have hot water. We called to speak to a manager and was offered to be moved to another room, after waiting over an hour we called and the manager stated that they were trying to find a room with hot water. I expressed that I wasn’t paying over $700 for three nights to sit around in the room for a replacement room. We were then offered to pack up our things and they would hold them while we went out and we could then go out on the town. We got a new room with hot water but when we woke up Sunday morning, it was 60 degrees in the room. Called once again and they said they knew about the heat and blamed it on the city water pressure once again. We went to the game and once returning we found small space heaters on and the room was now 78 degrees. We called the manager and asked if this is how you would want to be treated in a room after paying that much, we were credited less then $100 a night. This was the worst experience from Hyatt. Really disappointed.

We checked in a bit late Friday evening on Jan 3, 2020. The rooms looked clean and everyone was friendly. We were given an upgrade which included the regency club for breakfast and snacks in the evening. Not sure why this was offered this but we accepted and went up to the room. Our first night out of three started in room 2005. After dropping our bags we headed out for the evening and returned late ready for a hot shower and comfortable bed. We had no hot water or water pressure at all. We asked them to come by in the morning to fix it as it was late. In the morning we noticed that the back side of the comforter was dirty and asked for a clean change of sheets. Management wanted us to stick around to have the water fixed. We didn’t want to waste the day in the room so we were told that it was done while we were out. Still no water and no water pressure. The manager lied to us stating that they didn’t know it was an issue and moved us to a “better” room. Our keys also did not work for the breakfast area on floor 32. We were told we didn’t have access to that. Then later given the correct key for it. Our second and third night we stayed in room 650. We were told then that they had a boiler problem and that a lot of rooms didn’t have hot water. The water pressure was also affected by it. This is why I say the first manager lied to us because they did know this. The second night it was freezing in our room. The heat only blew cold air and there were no extra blankets. They had to bring us heaters for the third night we were there. Then we were told the boiler affected the heater system. Armed with two heaters and an extra blanket we were prepared for our third night. Check our bill and we had a small credit on our bill. On our credit card.....a larger amount was charged. So I will be calling them when we return home. Stay somewhere else. It’s pretty inside but not worth the stay.

The heat didn't work in our room. Maintenance never showed to check it. The front desk was going to send blankets! I said "NO, I want a room with heat". At 1:00 A M we changed rooms. The water in the shower was lukewarm, then the water went off completely! The front desk did send up 3 bottles of water so we could make coffee, brush our teeth, wash our hands... The room cost was $318, parking $25, dinner $40. I expected more for the prices we paid. The hotel is lovely. It just has poor management apparently

We were on the 19 floor. Great view of Superdome and Smoothie King Center. But didn't have a balcony.
The hotel is 14 miles from the Louis Armstrong International Airport. Travel time is dictated by traffic, of course. I suggest that you check Google maps (since they overlay traffic conditions in real time) if you are renting a car.
During my stay, heavy road construction and an accident resulted in a 1-hour trip to the hotel on a Sunday. My departure put me on the road at 4 AM and it took 20 minutes with no other cars on the road.
If this is your first time in N.O., consider taking the airport shuttle upon arrival rather than Uber/Lyft. It will cost 1/2 as much (even with a tip for the driver) and is just fine. However, check at the counter to ask about being picked up from the hotel and brought to the airport for departure. If you leave too early, the shuttle won't be running and you will be forced to take a taxi or Uber/Lyft.
If you are driving your own car and relying on GPS, be alert when returning to the airport as some older GPS' may take you to the "old" airport (which is on the way to the new one).
If this is your first time (even if you have a car), pick up a day-pass for the Hop-on/Hop-off bus tour. Tickets are available in the hotel lobby. It is a double-decker bus line with a stop in front of the hotel. It will take you on a tour of many major attractions, along with a guide that will talk about each one a bit. Tip driver and guide a buck or two. You can Hop off at any location and Hop-on again when the next one arrives (about every 15-20 minutes).
It was, (as well as the work out room) so long as you had your covid injections) but that was also back in November, and it was very cold out that week. The hotel is absolutely stunning! Enjoy your trip!
