This is a beautiful property. My stay was 2 nights for Mardi Gras. The staff was spectacular- everyone was helpful and polite. Due to Mardi Gras -this hotel was marked up due to being on a parade route- but after seeing it and participating in the parade activities, I would definitely stay again at the same price. Also, the hotel...

James with the Renaissance Arts hotel is very knowledgeable about the area and attractions. After my backstage penguin pass experience he helped wrap up my painting to protect it on the flight home. His hospitality and courtesy is second to none. If your looking for a property you won't find another with the caliber of staff in a great location...

Bell staff and Valet staff were local, super friendly, and very helpful. They were a great resource for area attractions, local information, and local history. They treated you with down to earth kindness, creating a safe atmosphere. "Lan the Man" and Charles were the door service and very knowledgeable and helpful. We could walk anywhere and catch the trolley where...

Stayed here for one night. Lovely hotel and great service. In the Warehouse District of New Orleans located several blocks from cruise ship terminals. However still need to take a taxi too far to walk with luggage. $16 cab ride. Hotel us also located in an area where there are lots of upscale restaurants including Emerils. Safe to walk around...

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel. We checked in during Mardi Gras on Lundi Gras and checked out on Fat Tuesday. I was prepared for an unpleasant experience with a lot of waiting due to the fact that it is super busy during this time of year. I was very anxious about parking because many hotels offer...

The location is perfect for visiting New Orleans: walking distance from the French Quarter and WWII Museum, in a pretty part of town with lots of interesting dining options. Hotel itself is beautiful, staff is helpful, and beignets at the place in the lobby are super good. One of my colleagues on this trip said she had a problem with...

Booked 2 nights post cruise. Excellent location -easy walk from the cruise ship pier maybe 10 minutes on flat sidewalk pavement ( wheelie bag ). I was super early for check in since I just got off the ship...but hotel stowed my bags and called me at 1:30 ish and said my room was ready. I had an exterior facing...

This hotel was everything we needed for our vacation to New Orleans. I reached out to LaShawn at the front desk before traveling, and she made sure our room assignment was perfection. The good: Location is convenient for those interested in walking to the convention center and also those interested in walking to the French quarter. There are some very nice restaurants very close by (merils, Peche, etc). Corner markets and Rouse's (grocery store) are a bit of trek, but certainly also walkable. Service was generally good (but see below). They have...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A historic setting, contemporary style, and a unbeatable location near New Orleans' French Quarter and in the heart of the trendy food mecca of the Warehouse District: all of this and more elevates the Renaissance New Orleans Arts Hotel to an unforgettable New Orleans experience. Our building is a former warehouse, dating from the early 20th century; we've preserved a sense of old-world elegance in our surroundings, while simultaneously infusing a thoroughly contemporary sense of convenience and art. Please note that our restaurant is currently undergoing renovations and we look forward to unveiling a stunning new restaurant to our guests in early 2015. For now, we recommend that our guests enjoy the many amazing New Orleans dining experiences within a short walking distance of our front doors, such as Cochon, Emeril's, Root, Tommy's Bistro, and many more. Our Navigators will be delighted to help you discover the best possible cuisine during your stay in New Orleans. ... more   less
