I wasn't sure what to expect with reading past reviews. I was very pleasantly surprised! The staff from the start was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and our room wasn't quite ready so they stored our bags for us and called us when it was. The room itself was much larger than we expected. There were 3 of...

Vacationed in New Orleans' French Quarter Oct. 13-17, 2014. We stayed at The Quarter House via Interval Timeshare Exchange. The "resort" was rated very high through Interval. The word "resort" gets tossed around a lot these days. This was an apartment like hotel - with many buildings woven together. The best thing about this "resort" was the staff - in...

Had the opportunity to stay here for a few days in September with some friends. This place is situated perfectly for wherever you wanted to go. We hit all the highlights from Bourbon Street, airboat ride, riverboat, trolley and plenty of eating. The staff was friendly, informative and extremely helpful. The parking was an issue and we ended up returning...

We were searching for an RCI exchange in New Orleans and found The Quarter House. I will tell you the pros and cons. Pros: Close proximity to almost everything. Easy walking to most everything we wanted to do. We even walked to The WWII Museum. The unit was clean. The hotel was secure and you had to be buzzed in...

The quarter house is within walking distance to all of the French Quarter. It is a historic building which has brick walls for great sound proofing! The staff is always pleasant and helps with every request. The front desk was like family by the time I left. It was clean and spacious. I loved it.

We traded Disney Vacation Club points through RCI to book this hotel for four nights (October 1-5, 2014). The hotel is definitely outdated (decor-wise), but it's in an excellent location within the French Quarter -- Jackson Square, Cafe du Monde, Bourbon Street, etc. are all just a quick walk away. Our one bedroom suite was in the back corner of...

We were fortunate to travel with relatives who had the 2 bedroom 3 bath penthouse suite for the week. The room was spacious and was two floors. The first floor had a full kitchen with accessories, a full bathroom and a living room with two pull out beds and a tv. Upstairs were two more rooms - a large master...

My biggest complaint about the Quarter House is the parking. The garage for the hotel is a few blocks away and downtown, which is almost all one ways. New Orleans can be confusing enough for tourists without the maze to the parking garage. With that said, the hotel is in a great location. We had a suite for a bachelorette...

We had long planned a trip to New Orleans and wanted to stay central to the French Quarter. We were warmly greeted when we checked in and walked through the charming courtyard to take the elevator up to our "home away from home" and it truly was! The place is old, but quaint, exposed brick and some exposed plaster walls....

We vacationed at the Quarter House Resort from August 30, 2014 thru September 6, 2014. I found this property thru my Interval International Getaways. This was our first time in New Orleans and we had the best time ever. The Quarter House is located on Chartres two blocks over from Bourbon. We had a one bedroom/one bath that slept 4,...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

“We had a sleep 4 unit. Was fine for us, but would of been a bit cozy for 4 people. Kitchen was well stocked, very comfortable bed & great shower. House keeping we're very attentive to our needs. When you consider how old the complex is, it's very well maintained & feels very historic! ”
