My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of August. The room was dirty. There were to go boxes of food left in the cabinets from the previous guests. We did not have a garbage bag in our room the entire time we stayed. The drawers were filled with roach droppings. I guess housekeeping services were non existent. Our...

After receiving a nice text prior to arrival inviting us to enjoy a "welcome beverage" on the house at the Silk Road bar downstairs, and informing us that "gourmet breakfast" would be available at the Silk Road restaurant, we arrived to find that the restaurant was completely under construction/renovation. After paying $50+ for a cab from the airport, we were...

Management response:

You posted 2 unfair, terrible & unnecessarily negative reviews on Expedia & Tripadvisor. You sat at the new bar when you checked in and observed us working our butts off trying to wrap up on-going construction that is coming to an end after 2 long, hard years. You could have easily asked for a bottle of wine ( which I...

A year ago I rented the hotel for 2 nights, but had to cancel because of an emergency. They refused to refund my money back. They told me I could use those 2 nights at another time. I finally was able to use those 2 nights but they would not book me because they could not find my name in...

My reservation was confirmed for room 3. I arrived 6:30pm and found out my room was now 9 which was in building next door. I then found out my bathroom was across the hall by public sitting room. I would not have have reserved the room if I had known this. The room had no exterior window. It had an...

Management response:

The lady rented our lowest priced, budget room. She stayed in the room she rented. It's clearly stated that the private(only the guest in room #9 has access to this bathroom via locked door with a code)bathroom which s less than 3ft outside the room #9 door. The bathroom has Italian tiles, Jacuzzi, etc. Daily maid service with fresh towels...

VERY nicely restored building above a fun restaurant (with amazing wine selection) in a perfect location (Marigny, close to Frenchman). Very comfortable room, beds. We made great use of the balcony. Felt at home! Staff was attentive. We walked everywhere in a great neighborhood.

This place was very affordable and had a fantastic location. The owner's accounting was awful, and the rooms were not always clean. That being said, the good far outdated the bad. Their breakfast was hearty as well.

We stayed in this cute little B&B in the Marigny district just up from Frenchmen Street. A fab neighbourhood close to the great music venues, restaurant and shopping of the French Quarter. We definitely felt like locals as this place is tucked into a quirky, friendly and relatively quiet neighbourhood. Attached is the Silk Road restaurant which has a great...

Family flew in from all over the world to celebrate my 70th birthday and all 20 of us stayed at the Balcony. We were greeted by Zak and later he brought flowers for me. The rooms were small but comfortable and we were able to all hang out at the balcony or in the main entry way. The food was...

Had a hard time finding something suitable for my family with two small children. The Balcony Guest House fit the bill. The breakfasts were the best meals we had on the trip. The set up of our room was kind of strange, there was a door that opened to a supply closet for the kitchen so kitchen staff had access...

Zak (the owner) responded to my reservation request by saying that the he would be putting us in the newly renovated and upscale Royal Guest House next door to the Balcony Guest House that was advertised. Susan was a vey difficult guest - to say the least. She had a list of petty complaints every single day. We did all we humanly could to to satisfy her.
