We came back to this guest house almost two years after our first stay, and it was just as nice, quiet and comfortable as last time. Heard music on nearby Frenchman Street every night, and this time had a chance to explore the charming Marigny neighborhood. There's continental breakfast food provided, but if you want a delicious cooked brunch, Cake... More

October of this year was our third visit all the way from Australia to the fabulous New Orleans, and both times we resided in lovely but relatively sterile hotels, so we thought it was time to stay somewhere that had a little more New Orleans "culture" to it. Crescent City Guest House certainly didn't disappoint. Situated just outside the French... More

My husband and I just got back from a week in New Orleans at the Crescent City Guest House and what a lovely stay we had! First, let me say that the hosts Matt & Lynn are so welcoming, resourceful and the house is stocked as if you were at home! The house is in a quiet neighborhood a few... More

We spent 5 days in NOLA recently and stayed in this very pleasant Guest House. Located very close to the Frenchman street, the key corner if you are interested in music (Jazz of course). However, it was not within the area affected by too much noise of traffic. A gentle 3 blocks from the action was a very good distance... More

A nice place to stay in a scenic neighbourhood. Clean and well equipped. Breakfast is 24/7 and good to start the day or when you need a bite. A lot of interesting places to visit on walking distance like French Market (5min), Bourbonstr (10-15min), etc. Owners are hospitable and act as perfect tourism information "guide" by sharing their knowledge of... Stayed here this year as part of my first trip to New Orleans for Jazz Fest and was not disappointed a bit! Lynn and Matt have great place and treat their guests very well. The 24/7 breakfast is perfect after staggering in from a night on the town. The Marigny neighborhood in spring was fantastic as well. From the time... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the CCGH. Matt was unavailable that weekend, but Lynn was extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed in Room 1 and the bathroom was bigger than any hotel we've ever stayed in! Plus, it had nice water pressure :) The bedroom was a nice size too and came with a mini fridge, a desk, and... Set apart from the noise and congestion of the French Quarter but only two blocks from Frenchman's Street, this B&B is situated perfectly. After a last minute decision to get away from the cold of New York, we were able to catch a room at this splendid B&B. Although the Breakfast was not like the usual B&B experience, there was... This guest house is run with great generosity of spirit. More towels and toiletries than you could possibly need and an enormous range of juices, breads, cereals etc for breakfast. When we arrived for Mardi Gras our bed was festooned with Mardi Gras beads and and the definitive Mardi Gras guide was provided for every room. The bedroom and common... More

As a denizen of the Faubourg Marigny, I have stayed at several of the B&Bs there. The Crescent City is right at the top of comfort, quietude and value. The rooms are not only beautifully decorated, but have many extra appointments and amenities. The location is nearly ideal for tourists wanting to be near, but not too close, to Frenchmen... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
