I was in town to attend the theater and visit with family. I was only able to stay one night, but needed to be in the city late on check-out day. While very convenient to the activities and action, the noise from the city did not reach the room. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I received exceptional service...

A work colleague recommended this hotel for the location, and they were certainly right about that. It wasn't cheap at AU$400 per night, and so I was disappointed to be put into a room that overlooked walls of windows at close range. Not a glimpse of view or even sky. After a long international flight, I was looking forward to...

Brissie_girl Thank you so much for this detailed and important review. We work hard to provide high levels of service and it seems we may have missed the mark here. I can be reached at Adam.turni@Hilton.com if you would like to discuss, I would like to help. Thank you again for the stay and the comments.

Hotel is in the middle of the city, lobby is up by the 10th floor(or close to it) front desk very good, and the Bell hop gentleman is great. Forgot his name but I'm sure he's been there for years because he's good. Gave us directions on what to do and the best ways to get there. Hotel is a...

Hotel was within walking distance of the French QTR however at night you really didn't feel safe walking back to the hotel. Parking attendants were great. Swimming pool was way smaller than what it looked like on the website.

Very good location with an 18th floor pool view of the city. The bed frame.....oh the bed frame corners. Those things stick out and you will bump it and it hurts like hell. Be in the look out! Valet service is great.

If I were to ever stay here again (won't happen), I would bring an eye mask to sleep with. The fact that there are no black out curtains made it impossible for my husband and I to sleep well. It was light enough in the room in the middle of the night that if felt like a light was on....

A reasonably priced hotel near the French quarter. I found the rooms to be set up nicely and fairly spacious. One downside to the Garden Inn is that they don't have a complimentary continental breakfast and the price for the breakfast is high for what you get. Upside is there is a bar and menu for dinner. The buffalo wings...

While the lobby area is nice, clean and bright, it is exactly the opposite of the rooms. Our room faced another wall of the hotel (even though I'm a Hilton Honors member and asked for a nice room for our four-night stay). Therefore, the room was naturally dark and poorly lit. While the room size and amenities were standard, the...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
