We stayed here a couple of years ago, and it was quite a find. It is inexpensive and the location is really good (away from the noise but close walking to everything). We did arrive 50 minutes early, so I was expecting we could park our bags, go grab something to eat and settle in the room. We rang the...

Well we came back and had another great stay - no kids this time - the room was clean - I remember other amenities in the fridge last time - did not see Brian but the two young men who checked us in and gave us breakfast we just as friendly - was also able to get a late check...

My boyfriend and I visited NO for the first time and wanted to stay in the French Quarter but didn't want to spend too much. After looking into many different options, we decided to stay here because of the decent price, great location, and promise of croissants every morning. Gentry House did not disappoint. The guy who runs the B&B...

Right beside Louis Armstrong park this lovely old cottage has 2 bedrooms, one with double bed and the other 3 singles, a living room with sofa bed, and full kitchen. Safely behind a locked gate it was perfect for us. Walking distance from everything but quiet.

My husband and I stayed at the Gentry House for a recent long weekend trip. Gentry House was our home away from home. This bed and breakfast is in the French Quarter, within walking distance of great restaurants and things to do and see, but on a quieter street. The apartment was lovely, with a bedroom and a small living...

This was our 2nd stay with Brian and Charlotte. It was as wonderful as our first! We look forward to our next stay with them! The house is beautiful, the suites are private, the breakfast croissants are delicious, and the house is full of the charm of New Orleans! We slept with the upstairs window open and the curtains blowing...

This was a girls weekend and my first visit to the French Quarter. I felt secure the entire time on the property. We were able to drop our luggage off when we arrived and go sight seeing until our room was ready. When we returned, all of our luggage was neatly and safely put away in our room. They called...

My two friends and I stayed at The Gentry House for a short time, 2 nights in January 2015. We were excited as this was our first bed and breakfast experience! LIKES: This place is not lacking in charm - the outside is festive (they were decorating next door during our stay), the courtyard inside is very cute, and it...

We love this little place with the sweetest and dearest proprietors you'd ever want to have. Yes,it's not fully modernized with flat screens and such, but that's not why you're in NOLA anyway! Our apt was spacious and clean with soft linens and was so peacefully quiet! The owners stocked our fridge with juice, milk, sodas, & fruit. The shared...

I am one of 4 women who were booked to stay 4 nights at Gentry House, Jan.2016. Our recent attempt at staying at the Gentry House was so disturbing, I felt compelled to warn others. I read alot of the reviews here before we booked. While our experience may seem far from the norm, I know I read at least...

We too were disturbed. The experience clearly did not meet their expectations … or ours. Housekeeper Angela is no longer with us. Suffice it to say that the apartment has been fully treated and scrubbed. Our regular extermination service performed a thorough inspection, and although no bed (or any other kind of bug) bug was found, the service applied a...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
