I can't overstate how happy we were with Maison DuBois. Our group of friends rented four of the five rooms here for a 4-night stay. We worked with the property owner directly, who was very helpful and gracious, and also very willing to let us do our own thing. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had the Esplanade, which...

This was a great B&B, but there's about a 2 inch gap at the bottom of the bedroom and bathroom doors and a large window above each door. So essentially you can hear everyone coming and going, you can hear someone using the bathroom, and if you're sleeping and someone turns on a hallway light it'll shine in your room....

Thanks so much for your kind words and accolades for a 'great B&B'. Please allow me to explain two of the architectural designs you mentioned that are controlled by our HDLC 'Historic District Landmarks Commission' (the City's regulatory agency for local Historic properties outside the French Quarter). The large windows you refer to are 'transoms' (controlled by the HDLC). Transom...

I would like to preface this review that I am a hotel snob with very high expectations. This was our second visit to this amazing b+b. The location is perfect. About a 10 min walk to the action in the french quarter and a 5 minute walk to the real action on Frenchman street. Gary was the most gracious host....

This is a bed and breakfast which is about a 10-15 minute walk from the bars in the Bourbon Street area. About 5 minutes for Frenchmen Street. Perfectly located - away from the noise but easy enough to walk to from either places of interest. We were greeted by Tom and checked into the Dauphine/Marigny suite. This has two rooms...

We recently visited New Orleans and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this charming B&B near the French Quarter. Gary made us feel welcome and was very helpful in getting us familiar with the local area and providing tips for cafes, bars and restaurants. Our room was clean and comfortable and the garden and pool setting was quiet and nice to...

Our room was superb and very clean. The whole bed and breakfast had a New Orleans good vibe. The property is well attended to. Maison DuBois is within walking distance to the downtown of New Orleans. There is the kitchen available to socialize if you so wish, and a living room to sit with other guests (or fellow travelers). Tom...

I've had a wonderful stay in this most charming and kept well after house. My room was very nice and clean. Tom, the manager made me feel most welcome. Location at the border of the French Quarter, a very quiet and beatiful neighbourhood but close enough to the busy center.

We had another wonderful stay at Maison DuBois! So nice to be able to walk to the best shops and restaurants and yet far enough away from the Bourbon street noise to get some rest! The pool and spa is a special haven where you can recharge before an evening out. Frenchmen street is just around the corner. Go there...

Just spent a great weekend in Nawlins and can't say enough about Maison DuBois. Tom (and Gary) were great hosts and the house, pool, porch, etc are beautiful. Excellent location a bit off the beaten path, so nice and quite at night. The pool area is a perfect place to rest and relax in the afternoon before heading out on...

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
