Everything about The Burgundy B&B was exceptional! Our host was a lot of fun. We ended up talking well into the night multiple times. It felt like a family right away. The hot tub in the courtyard was delightful, and everything was just all around lovely. I will never stay in a hotel again if I have the choice because... More

The owner was very accommodating, taking us on a tour of the whole house and available amenities, and offering his knowledge of the local sights as soon as we arrived. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfortable enough for the three of us. The one thing that stands out the most, however, was that the sheets did not... More

Thank you for your kind review. As to the sheets, I can assure you that they were freshly washed! Perhaps you are used to perfumed detergents - we use 'free and clear' perfume and allergen free detergent, so that you might have missed that "fresh" smell that perfumed detergents promise?? More

I stayed at The Burgundy B&B in 2012 and loved it so much that when I visited New Orleans again 6 months later for Jazz Fest, I made sure to book a room here again. The house is lovely, colourful and very cosy, and the neighbourhood is fantastic. Carl is a great host who is very welcoming and helpful in... More

The Burgundy is certainly a bed and breakfast but after a very short time there, it feels like a home, your home. Carl, who owns the Burgundy Bed and Breakfast also lives on the premises. He is practically invisible until you want or need something and then he seems to just appear. He is an instinctive, natural host who has... More

The Burgundy is a quaint B&B in the Marigny area. There's very easy access to Frenchman's street and the streetcar is only about 8 blocks away. The owner is a pleasant man that was very accommodating. My only complaint would be that in the middle of a shower the water went cold and stayed that way about 3 minutes before... More

The house is charming. We stayed in back room known as Red Room and felt very private. Carl provides a great breakfast each morning and it was amazing to dine with other visitors from France, Germany, Switzerland. The walk down to Frenchman and French Quarters is safe and only about 15-20 minutes away from the action. For the money, this... More

My boyfriend and I, both college students, traveled to NOLA for our Spring Break. We stayed 4 days and 3 nights at The Burgundy and had an amazing time! The online reviews raving this place were all too true. We drove 11 hours to get there and they accommodated our later arrival time. We did not get the chance to... More

The neighborhood is in transition and many of the double shotgun homes have been beautifully renovated, including this one. Our room was in the back of the house with a private bathroom and entrance. Queen bed was comfortable; bathroom needed some updating (had to step up into old time tub and pull the curtains to shower; sink was very small).... More

My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Burgundy Bed and Breakfast. Our host was gracious and helpful, and it is within easy walking distance from music on Frenchman Street, and the French Quarter.

The Burgundy B&B was exactly what I was looking for when I wanted a short stay in NoLa. It was within walking or biking distance of everything I wanted to do. Carl was a pleasant and informative host. The B&B was quiet and clean; my room (the smallest available) was much bigger than I expected and benefitted from a nice... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
