I had to upgrade to a room with more space because I had a sprained ankle and needed extra room to navigate. They gave me a suite. The hotel is a gem -- sort of like a boutique. The restaurant, Luke, is a huge plus. The rooms are not state of the art, but they are huge and good enough...

We booked a King suite room for our family of 4 for 4 nights over Spring Break. The room was ideal for us: large bedroom with sliding doors, large living area with pull-out couch for Tweens. They said the pull out couch was lumpy but they slept like logs. Both rooms had a TV. The room was very sunny (huge...

Let me say that outside of the Executive Lounge, I would say this is a very nice Hilton - friendly staff, great location, very clean. So writing about the Executive Lounge may seem petty. However this "perk" given to Gold and Diamond level Hilton Honors members can be very nice; I have seen some wonderful Executive Lounges and this wasn't...

we generally like this hotel due to the room sizes and the location. It is off the beaten path a bit but then it rids of the downtown noise too. We travel the world and use hilton quite often. This one in particular is clean and efficient. It's also within walking distance of the best restaurants around!! The trolley picks...

Stayed for a business trip and was impressed by the value and location of this hotel. Situated on the edge of the business district, this was only a short walk from Bourbon Street. We were able to get back and forth from the tourist offerings in the French Quarter, and back to a safe and quiet place to stay at...

Not quite average, but not quite poor either. The room was fine, but not clean. There was a cigarette butt on the floor behind the toilet when we checked in (non smoking room) and it was still there 4 days later when we checked out. And the cleaning person came by every day. We also asked for clean wash cloths...

It's in a safe location, within a short walk of bourbon st, the casino, and riverwalk shopping area. in an old bank, so it doesn't feel life a modern hotel building. Restaurant in the hotel, bars nearby, mini mart next door.

Excellent Hotel. Walking distance to French Quarter. Shuttle service to and from the New Orleans Jazz Festival. From Hilton it was $35 round trip per person, at the hotel down the street, it was $20 per person round trip. Not sure why there was such a huge price difference as both offered air-conditioned buses. The hotel was clean. Staff friendly...

Enjoyed our stay here! Very nice hotel located in a convenient area. In the business district, so it's clean. Its a quick walk to many great restaurants and less than mile to the Riverwalk. Would stay again.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
