If you want to experience true New Orleans style, this is a great choice! It's not a cookie cutter chain resort. It is old and "outdated" and it has it's own aroma, but I think those are part of what we loved about it. This place is incredibly charming. Everyone in our very large group (12 ladies) was impressed with...

Lovely hotel, top location, friendly and helpful staff, clean but slightly outdated rooms, would definitely recommend this hotel. We went as a couple but would happily bring our children here. Must visit Red Slipper, a fantastic breakfast and lunch restaurant around the corner on Canal Street, must catch the street car to Garden District.

We stayed 6 nights in room A5 on the Second floor. Our suite was spacious with a double balcony overlooking the courtyard. Bathroom need updating but it was functional. Ice machine and free stacked laundry unit was on the first floor so everything was very convenient. Several great restaurants less than 2 blocks away. I would definitely stay here again.

Conveniently located in the French Quarter just off Canal and Basin out of the noise but in walking distance to everything. Attractively decorated 3-room suite with balcony, but clearly an older building well-maintained. Helpful staff led by manager-concierge Paul. Quiet courtyard with pool and wrought iron tables and chairs. Wifi only in that area. One of the two buildings has...

A great little hotel although in need of a refurb. The rooms are old. We stayed in a one bedroom with sleeper couch in the lounge opening onto the courtyard. We didn't use the "kitchen" and the bathroom is very old and a little grubby. Wi-fi in the room wasn't great but fine in the courtyard. Unfortunately the coffee station...

The hotel is great, the patio and room were great. We arrived on a Saturday and Mary was the receptionist, warm and caring person, very helpful ! The room assigned was not made when we walked in and she changed us immediately . We got room 2, ground floor so very noisy from the street and NO internet, we had...

I stayed at Chateau Orleans on my first visit to the Big Easy and was pleased with my stay. The primary factors for my satisfaction was the convenience to the French Quarter and the Street Cars being both only two blocks away. It was well secured and safety was never a concern. The actual rooms were clean and well kept...

I thought this hotel was very reasonably priced and in a very charming French Quarter location. Our room was located right off the courtyard (A3) which was could be little noisy as people came and left, but that's to be expected in New Orleans. The room was beautiful with a nice sitting room that had a gorgeous chandelier, leather couch,...

NOT HOT WATER during our stay!!!! We stayed in room 6 for one Sunday night and had only cold water in all faucets! I let them know the next morning and Susie stated that I should have known to call the answering service to get a key for the extra room. They do not even want to give me a...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
