This place is really close to bourbon street. Its modern and in a pretty safe area. The room we had, didn't have windows so it could have better lighting. Also would be nice if they had a pool instead of the lounge area. I like that it had USB ports along with regular outlets. It was clean and the showers... More

Saw several questionable reviews about this hotel but decided stay anyway; price was competitive which was the primary driver. Hotel was renovated and given a euro minimalist look and feel; as a Platinum member was given a room on the 8th floor; nice room; completely renovated; 2 minor issues; my room smells a little musty; slight smoky smell; 1 elevator... We spent 5 days in NOLA, our first visit, and we LOVED it. We stayed at the AC Hotel, after searching for a reasonable priced hotel in a location close or in the French Quarter. We were not disappointed in this hotel. It is a beautiful hotel in a very good location, only a block and a half from Bourbon... More

Good location, just 2 blocks outside the Quarter, although the walk along Carondelet can be seedy, especially early in the morning. An impressive façade gives a clean, contemporary feel, which is reinforced by the lobby and bar area. The staff was helpful during our stay, although a little aloof. I'm not sure what being a "European-style hotel" means in this... More

The walls of our room were extremely thin - we could hear everything in the next room and people passing in the hallway. One morning we were woken up at 7am by maintenance working loudly on the ice dispenser outside the room. It was impossible to find a setting on the AC that wasn't either stifling or freezing. The staff... More

My husband and I stayed there for 4 nights mid October 2016. Great location directly across Canal Street from the French Quarter. You literally just walked 1/2 block from the hotel across Canal and you are on Bourbon Street. The lobby of the hotel was very nice and the staff great (big shout out to the awesome night front desk... More

Being a Marriott "lifetime Platinum" member, I have stayed at many Marriott properties over the years. I was very excited to try this new Marriott brand in New Orleans. So let me start with the positives. Very good location, just off Canal Street and very close to the French Quarter. Cool atmosphere in both the lobby and bar area. Friendly... More

Stayed here on a recent business trip. Location was great. Within walking distance to Bourbon street and all that entails. Nice bar and the room was clean and had all the amenities required. Will definitely stay here again.

This is just below average. I would have given them one star if they hadn't moved us to a different room. Our first room was dark and musty. The decor is nice but in practice just looks cold and uninviting. We were able to change rooms and were upgraded to a corner king after complaining to the front desk. We... More

This is an interesting one. One the one hand it had some redeemable qualities, but on the other hand, a couple of eyebrow raising moments. Starting with the good: Check in was easy. Nice guy at the front desk. The lobby was swanky and modern. Had a boutique contemporary feel. Nice set up. Full Bar Nice Staff Comfy bed and... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
