I recently stayed at the Maison Pierre Lafitte for work for 4 nights. The hotel room reminded me of a loft apartment. There was a secure entry to the building when no one was at the desk. The are plenty of security cameras on every floor. The room had refrigerator, microwave and small range stove complete with silverware and dishes to...

We stayed a week at Maison Pierre Lafitte in New Orleans as an exchange thru RCI. We had a one bedroom plus living room, kitchenette, and bathroom. While the price was right, the hotel is in sad need of major renovation. The unit was spacious with nice hardwood floors. But the furniture was old and very uncomfortable. The front desk...

Positives: Friendly helpful front desk staff. Free Wi-Fi. Updated bathroom. Close to Canal Street car & French Quarter. An all day pass for the street car is only $3. This was a time share exchange through RCI. Ruby Slippers is nearby for a breakfast. The Roosevelt Hotel next door has a taxi stand but after a couple of days we...

What a dump. Cheap, scratched-up Goodwill furniture, dirty hallways, filthy carpets, small dank bathroom, no functioning TV, no parking. And zero services! Check out the "suite" with two pitch dark bedrooms filled with traffic noise (with the windows closed). How does this place stay in business?

We thought this resort is extremely close to almost everything you wan to see in New Orleans , especially with th trolley within a block and the transfer trolley one two blocks away.. The transfer at St Charles will run you all the way to the end and get off and back on to return at this came stop. Great...

If you want a lot of amenities find a large hotel. This place is small quiet and rustic. We were on the second floor living room with kitchenette.. micro wave two burner cook top coffe maker toaster and a full size fridge. Bath in the same floor spiral staircase to the loft bedroom. Room is clean and comfortable. Spiral staircase...

We stayed at the Maison Pierre Lafitte as a time share trade and were pleasantly suprised. We had a 2 bedroom/1 bath with kitchen/livingroom on the third floor. The unit was not fancy, but clean and comfortable. We had a minor complaint (sound on the cable tv) which was addressed immediately. The location across Canal St. from the streetcar line...

Our room on the third floor was quiet and comfortable. The reproduction furnishings were generally in keeping with the period feel of the hotel. Loved the marble bathroom. Location was just off Canal, close to streetcars and Bourbon. We walked to the French Quarter/Bourbon St., the French Market, Harrah's, convention centre, Riverwalk Outlet Mall, and Superdome, all with no difficulty....

My stay here started off very badly. There is No parking for check in. For some inexplicable reason the have antique cars blocking the front entrance. I tried to squeeze in front of those old cars but I got a parking ticket. The have no one manning the front desk. You have to open a combination lock on the door...

Thank you for your review on the Maison Pierre Lafitte! We have taken your comments and reviewed them with management. Thank you for addressing your concerns with us! We first want to apologize for the parking. There is a parking garage across the street that our front desk does point towards. The area in front of our hotel is a...

This hotel is located on Canal Street right at the edge of the French Quarter. It's a small little boutique hotel with a wonderful, friendly staff. The rooms were clean, safe, and definitely a step back in time. We stayed on the third floor in the rooms that were set up like converted condos (with a living area, kitchenette, separate...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
