We were very satisfied with the cleanliness of the resort and the staff was friendly. We didn't eat there as we were on vacation and toured the history and sites of New Orleans. We were not happy with all of the streets and repairs going...More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

The hotel has a concierge who can help you with hiring a car. However, if you want a self-drive vehicle to be delivered to the hotel, the easiest is to book it through Enterprise Rent-a-car. They have several locations in downtown New Orleans (NOLA) and are the only rental agency that will come pick you up to take you to their site for the car pickup and take you back to your hotel at the end of your rental.
On the other hand, if you absolutely want a car to travel outside the city, my recommendation is to just book it for pickup and drop off at the airport. Check out Expedia for the best rates.
Just be aware that you will be in an ideal location to walk to, or take the fun tramway lines to, most of the points of interest in NOLA , and tour companies will let you see the remainder of the city.

To be honest with you. I have stayed at this hotel 8 times and I have never swam in their pool. I can't tell you about if it's heated or not. I do like the Courtyard Rooms. I'd splurge and book the Petite Suite. Very spacious! Refrigerators are in the rooms. No microwaves.in the rooms I have stayed in. New Orleans is a walking city. If you need transportation anywhere I would suggest UBER or similar. For sightseeing, I like the World War II museum. Go to the National Parks Museums in New Orleans. You can look them up under national parks. If you like a horse and buggy ride those are fun, night haunted tour, cooking demonstration, house of blues, Stanley's for breakfast. Hard Rock and Red Fish Grill are connected to the Hyatt Centric which is convenient. Harrah's if you want to try your luck for gaming. Cale du Monde, Court of Two Sisters, Gumbo Shop, Street Cars are fun, If you are over Labor Day, that weekend is busy and there's LGBT event Decadence Weekend. Have fun!
