I have had many business lunches at this hotel and have made it a tradition. For nearly 20 years we have enjoyed the salad bar with made-to-order pasta dishes. This is a beautiful place to relax for a chat at lunch. I always eat just...More
This hotel couples old world charm with whimsical delight by way of the 10PM Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich bar and toasty hot chocolate. Jovial bellmen remember your name every time you enter the hotel. A TRUE treasure not to be missed when visiting New...More

Le Pavillon did not disappoint! A refreshing treat from a standard business hotel! I was in New Orleans during the week for a conference at the Hilton Riverside, but switched hotels for the weekend, when my husband arrived for 3 nights. While switching hotels (packing,...More
The lobby is gorgeous, but the rooms need updating. We stayed on the 9th floor and I was impressed with how quiet it was, but the carpet, furnishings and bathroom all need to be updated. It was also weird that the bathroom was so small,...More

Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts
District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

I don't pay much mind to stories of hauntings and spirits. I think if you want a ghostly encounter, you can find one anywhere...especially in areas with so many stories to tell. But I personally think you find as much as you're looking for. There was nothing out of the ordinary in my experience. The hotel was stunning and my stay was wonderful!
