The atmosphere, decor, friendliness, comfort, convenience and professionalism is second to none! I would stay there again in a heartbeat. The staff are most efficient, and especially Pam the Bartender is outstanding! Absolutely perfect!

I brought 3 kids, ages 8 and 9 to NOLA for spring break. This is a very nice hotel and was also appropriate for the kids. We loved the rooftop pool..was very beautiful day and night. The pbj sandwiches were awesome after swimming snacks! The rooms were big and this made our stay even more comfortable! The kids loved the...

This hotel is a New Orleans classic. That means it is also old -- the rooms are older, the bathrooms are small, etc. But it adds to the character. Plus the staff is exceptional. I went for a run one morning while I was there, and when I came back, the bellman had a bottle of water waiting for me...

This hotel managed to rank itself among the three best hotel on my personal list. I will just copy-paste what I've written on my travel blog. By the way, it is safe to walk back from the French Quarter. "The hotel, Le Pavillon, where we stayed shows a European, castle-style design. Stepping inside is as if you were going back...

I thought this hotel was very average. Yes it is old, but it really needs to a spring cleaning. I had to ask for bathrobes (my friends in a different room had bathrobes in their room), there was no toothpaste in the amenities kit, and I had to request a coffee machine for the room (I assumed there would be...

I am so glad we've decided against staying in the French Quarter. This was the weekend after Mardi Gras. The French Quarter was full of drunks behaving badly in the evenings, so no hotel there could have protected us from the street noise. Le Pavillon is located within a 10-15 minute walk from the French Quarter. If walking isn't a...

We enjoyed our stay at Le Pavillon. It was a nice clean hotel with mostly good service despite one or two people not so great. In particular we had help from a concierge (a short guy) who was very helpful and well mannered and gave us a good initial impression of the hotel. The location was good and close to...

Great location if attending an event at either of these locations but otherwise the location is less than optimum it seemed to us. Luckily the hotel has room service 24 hours or you would go hungry after the event. Hotel service was awesome, it's an older establishment so rooms are smaller but they have done an excellent job with updates....

We stayed at this hotel this week for Mardi Gras. We knew it was close to the parade route when we booked but, with the rainy weather, it could not have been a better choice! We made a run to the hotel between the Zulu and Rex parades and barely missed a thing. Additionally, we didn't realize that it is...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
