Our room was located in the back of this charming home. We had our own entrance complete with gas lanterns to light the night. Our very own pouch had wicker furniture to sit outside and enjoy the New Orleans atmosphere. The hotel was close to Frenchman Street which is exactly what we were looking for.

I stayed in one of the executive residential suites. The experience was good, but not great. The details were just not up to par. For example, there was no traditional hotel book with information/amenities, etc., which surprised the staff when we called to ask for internet login instructions, but they still didn't provide a book to us. The breakfast was...

Everything was 1st class from the curb side service, helping us with information, check in/out process, housekeeping, friendliness etc. My husband and I will definitely stay here again. Our room was Miss Kitty which looked newly renovated and had a balcony. We enjoyed the wine/cheese our. That was a nice special touch.

Great location; beautiful place; lovely pool; nice people. Would be happy to stay there again any time! Rooms are all lively and well-appointed. Staff is friendly and responsive. Would be nice if the in-room refrigerators were stocked, though.

My sister and I were in town to visit another sister- this was close to her. We were in the Burgundy room right on the 1st floor in the main house; the room was beautiful and spacious, great shower, but could use better lighting in the bathroom- had to do makeup in the room with big windows providing adequate light....

We're glad you and your sisters made the mansion a part of your visit. It's a great place to come together and hang out. Hopefully you all were able to enjoy the wine & cheese in the parlor to kick off the evening. Next time you're in town, we'll love to have you back.

We booked Melrose Manor for 10 people(5 rooms) for one night after a cruise on Hotels.com. The Manor is on the end of the French Quarter but is still in walking distance to all the sights. We arrived very early because we were off the cruise ship so the rooms were not ready and the lobby was a little congested...

Fantastic location on the edge of the French quarter and within easy walking distance of all the action but without the noise and hustle bustle. Zena K, It was a joy for us to have you! You're not wrong when you mention the scarcity of shelves or side tables in the bathrooms. What a gem is the Melrose Mansion! We stayed in the Exclusive Grande Balcony Suite that overlooks Esplanade and yes it is pricier than the other rooms but well worth the investment. Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighbourhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
