The Hotel Provincial is a small boutique hotel located in the heart of the French Quarter. It has been owned and operated by the Dupepe family since its’ opening in July 1961. In 1959, Vernon and Eunice Dupepe bought the site of the French Market Ice House which had been destroyed in a fire. On that site, the original part of the hotel was built/restored and consisted of 44 rooms. Within a few years, under the stewardship of the 2nd generation, the family began acquiring several historic buildings surrounding the parking lot. Those buildings were restored and converted to hotels rooms. The 500 building was the last building to open in 1972, bringing the hotel’s total rooms and suites to 92. The Hotel Provincial is currently operated by the third generation of the Dupepe family.

Location location location - it's perfect - easy access to Frenchmen St, Jackson Square (cafe du monde!), Riverfront, Bourbon St/bars, streetcars. Clean rooms, decent bathroom and amenities. Plenty of outlets for charging your devices and reliable internet. Perfect for the no-frills needed traveler at very reasonable rates.

Hotel's Favourite
This hotel was perfect for our trip to New Orleans. The location makes it easy to walk every where in the French Quarter. There are so many restaurants and attractions nearby. The staff were all very nice and friendly. We were traveling with our kids and appreciated how quiet and family friendly the hotel was. The main pool was so nice, we spent alot of time cooling off here, we didnt go to the smaller pool. We stayed in a petit suite with two beds, the room was a bit small, but the beds were comfortable. Overall we enjoyed our stay here. If we ever go back to New Orleans I would want to stay here again.

Great location, clean, tidy, comfy, serene. I loved it. The decor was beautiful, the staff were helpful. My room was just right for a solo traveler, I like smaller rooms so I felt very safe and comfortable. The courtyard fountain was gorgeous and the lobby was cozy and comfortable. Really loved it.

If your tired of chain hotels this is a great authentic French Quarter experience. The only reason the slight ding on service is more due to the non-traditional layout of the hotel. You will find no long hallways with doors on each side which you can post “Do not disturb” or “Clean now.” The room service staff has to climb stairs, walk to various building & time is too limited for revisits. Great location, hotel bar & staff. We definitely would return.

Everyone we came in contact with at this hotel was awesome. Had a little hiccup with valet (take off any sentimental key chains or they may be lost). The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. And the pillows were amazing. I forgot to look and see what brand they were. I'd definitely stay here again. Hopefully for a longer amount of time.

Old time feel, friendly, comfortable and in a quieter area of the quarter- which is key after a long day. The breakfast restaurant Toast is also amazing! I recommend the crepes and the grits with some bacon.

Charming hotel with everything you need. Central location to all the destinations the French quarter has to offer, but away from the hustle and bustle of the busier streets. Friendly and accommodating staff. Clean rooms. Loved our stay here.
