The service was excellent, every one was very friendly. True southern hospitality. Love the location, Canal streetcar stop is just in front of the hotel, and St. Charles streetcar stop is next to side door of the hotel, river front car is a couple blocks away, super convenient. beautiful river views from the hotel room.

This by far was one of the most pleasant hotel stays we've shared together and we have stayed in hundreds of hotels in the past 8 years. First, it is centrally located, beautiful and has outstanding customer service. Mimi was exceptional with her professionalism, humor, sense of self and personalism. she went above and beyond to ensure that we had...

A great location right opposite the French Quarter and very close to other fantastic attractions such as the Aquarium and Mississippi paddle boat cruises. The rooms are very comfortable and spacious. Great facilities throughout.

The Sheraton on Canal Street is a huge 40+ story hotel hosting many conferences. The lobby/bar area on the first floor is vast. A great place to meet people and have a beverage. In late afternoons, a guy comes out and plays on the piano. The location is walking distance to the French Quarters and Riverfront. There's the Canal Streetcars...

I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel. It was top notch. Check in was great and the customer service rep even gave us ideas on places to eat. She was very helpful with ensuring our room was prepared the way we requested. We did eat and drink at the bar one night. The menu didn't have very many choices,...

The hotel was ok, but they directly mislead me about charging for internet. They told me it was included in my room charge and told me very clearly that I would not be charged. After the fact, they gave me long story, admitting that they misled me, but gave me the run around, forwarding my calls to dead phone lines....

I found this hotel to be a disappointment. On the surface everything seemed to be ok, but underneath....not so great. First and foremost our room was dirty. Significantly dirty. When i brought it to the attention of the hotel the adjusted my bill for the trouble ...but I didn't experience the level of customer service I would expect for a...

Spent 3 days in New Orleans prior to picking up a cruise. Lovely hotel in a great position on main Canal St in the French Quarter. Large reception area with central bar/eatery and also an on-site Starbucks. Staff are helpful and polite. Good spacious rooms with comfy soft beds and limited free Wifi options. Convenient for the famous Bourbon Street,...

Very Beautiful hotel. In a good area, restaurants are nearby and on walkable distances. Great view of the city from our hotel room! Room was very clean. Bed we're comfy. Can't wait to stay here again in the near future.

Hotel was great and the staff was super friendly. Clean rooms with a great view of the city, definitely ask for an upper level room if possible. The upgraded suite was a bit pricey but the extra space was worth the money.

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
