This is a charming hotel. We had a small suite that was very nicely decorated. The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful especially Dianna, the receptionist. The hotel has a very good restaurant and bar. It's in a great location and an easy walk to the old section of N.O. I highly recommend the Lafayette Hotel; however, I suggest...

It's a beautiful old boutique hotel, maybe needing a coat of paint, but in a quiet part of town -- attractions are a walkable distance, or you could hop on a streetcar. We've stayed in the front in a large two bed room, and in their petite room. Either one is comfy and well serviced.

Charming hotel within walking distance of several things to do. Excellent staff. Clean and comfortable. Valet parking. The only complaint that I have is the paper thin walls. We heard EVERYTHING that went on outside on the very busy St. Charles street, including the jackhammer across the street at 7:00AM.

Stayed here on business during the NBA all star game. Could not get into the hotel of my choice, so this was it. Nice surprise. The room I had was on the 6th floor. It was nicely furnished and decent sized. Everything functioned well and the staff was fine. I did not have a rental car.....but it doesn't look like...

We were in town for a wedding and part of the wedding party was at this hotel and part at the Ace Hotel around the corner. This is close to the Ace if you want to party there but this is a much quieter place, charming rooms, not fancy but good price. And they have a wonderful bar and restaurant...

This is a charming old hotel with wonderful staff. The valet parking was easy and quick and I think it was included in the price, which was very reasonable. They kindly moved me to an off-street suite on arrival and my son slept on the pull out couch. The bathroom was huge.We were very comfortable and we enjoyed the great...

Stayed here a few weeks back on a quick two-day trip to New Orleans. It's about a 10-minute walk from the French Quarter, in particular Bourbon Street etcetera, and it's safe and easy. The bar is great but closed early when I was there. There is a parking lot 1 block away where 24-hour parking is around 20 bucks. Check-in...

This hotel is the perfect location for enjoying Mardi Gras parades. The grand stands are all up and down the street in front of the hotel. The French Quarter is within easy walking distance. I had a petite room and it was very comfortable. The room was very clean. The bathroom was a decent size. The staff was very friendly....

Location is great and within walking distance of some good coffee shops and the French Quarter. Some parades pass right in front of it. We had a room on the 6th floor which you actually needed to use 2 separate elevators to get to. Had a hard time maintaining the right temp. in the room but other wise place was...

This is a great hotel in the middle of things to see in New Orleans. Staff was friendly and helpful to help us navigate site-seeing. It is conveniently located near the trolley stop so we could travel all over the place for $3 a day pass on any trolley. Room was exceptionally spacious and so quiet we slept like "babies"....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
