Great experience. I stayed at this hotel becasue my goddaughter got married there. The accomodations, environment, and employees were all great. The wedding was fantastic, great service. One could not ask for a better location, righ in the French Quarter, five blocks away from the Cathedral and Plaza de Armas.

We travel frequently and we decided to return to the Hotel Monteleone on March 17th - March 20th and we stayed in Room 784. We so loved our trip to this hotel the last time we were in New Orleans; however, I must say that we were extremely disappointed this trip considering the price we paid for our room. This...

Our room was a good size and had everything we needed. A problem with the safe was sorted out quickly. Staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was good. The bar does get very busy but mid-afternoon does appear to be a good time to enjoy a cocktail. It is close to everything. We went up to the roof and enjoyed...

Classic old hotel. Beautiful lobby. The Carousel Bar is definitely worth a visit. Rooms are small but furnished well and larger than most century old hotels. Bed was a bit soft and the bedside lamp did not work well. Bathroom was also small but very functional and nice toiletries. Good towels and linens. In room safe and fridge. Internet fast...

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Monteleone during our first trip to New Orleans recently and we couldn't have been happier! It's a beautiful, historic hotel right in the centre of the French Quarter - walking distance to Bourbon Street, great bars, restaurants, shopping and more. A great vibe in the area. The room and amenities were also fantastic...

I have had the opportunity to stay in this hotel on 2 occasions while visiting this musical city. It is a well positioned property in the French Quarter with a brief walk to many popular spots for tourists of the city. On both visits, I stayed in the hotel for the expressed purpose of conducting business. The meeting venue is...

When I first saw the entrance of the hotel, the building looked like it was from the 20's. Very luxurious and beautiful. Inside, the chandeliers and elegance is like being in a time machine. You can see lists of famous guests like Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, and Fitzgerald. The rooms are awesome- beds and pillows are SO comfortable. The restaurant and...

Staying in French Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
French Quarter
A small and teeming network of laissez-faire living lounged out on the balmy banks of the Mighty Mississippi, the French Quarter has long been a port of call for folks in search of a good time and a great story. Perpetually inebriated Bourbon Street runs across its midriff like a strand of cheap ribbon tied around an otherwise rather pretty and impressively well-kept vintage dress. Throughout the rest of the Quarter, brightly colored Victorian homes and businesses, famously done up with wrought-iron features, provide a distinct and immediately recognizable backdrop for all varieties of fun. At any given moment in this historic riverside setting, some of America’s finest meals are being cooked, most potent cocktails are being mixed, and most engaging music is being performed.
